Einar Andersson
Einar Andersson (born Ernst Ejnar Andersson 13 July 1909 – 11 January 1989) was a Swedish tenor opera singer. Andersson was born in Västerås. He studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in Stockholm. He first performed on stage in an opera in Stockholm in 1938. In 1939 Anderson became a soloist in the Royal Swedish Opera. In 1958 he toured the Soviet Union. He died on 11 January 1989 in Åseda in Uppvidinge. Västerås ( , , ) is a city in central Sweden on the shore of Mälaren, Lake Mälaren in the province of Västmanland, west of Stockholm. Royal Swedish Academy Of Music
The Royal Swedish Academy of Music ( sv, Kungliga Musikaliska Akademien), founded in 1771 by King Gustav III, is one of the Royal Academies in Sweden. At the time of its foundation, only one of its co-founder was a professional musician, Ferdinand Zellbell the Younger. The Academy is an independent organization, which acts to promote the artistic, scientific, educational and cultural development of music. Fredrik Wetterqvist is director of the Academy. The Academy consists of 170 Swedish members belonging to various spheres of the music industry and has a research committee which has been operational since 1980s. They are involved in research on Gustavian music drama, music archaeology, future developments in musical life and music in a multicultural society. Uppvidinge Municipality
Uppvidinge Municipality (''Uppvidinge kommun'') is a municipality in Kronoberg County, southern Sweden, with its seat in the town of Åseda. The present municipality, which took its name from a hundred, was formed by the local government reform of 1971 when ''Lenhovda'', ''Nottebäck'', ''Åseda'' and ''Älghult'' were amalgamated. The number of original entities, as of 1863, is six. The first amalgamation in the area (Granhult merged with Nottebäck) took place already in 1915. The municipality has a rather small population but its slogan states "In a Small Municipality Man Becomes Large". More than 80% of the area is covered with forests, making it live up to the general public's impression of the "dark" province of Småland. The Firebird
''The Firebird'' (french: L'Oiseau de feu, link=no; russian: Жар-птица, Zhar-ptitsa, link=no) is a ballet and orchestral concert work by the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. It was written for the 1910 Paris season of Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes company; the original choreography was by Michel Fokine, who collaborated with Alexandre Benois on a scenario based on the Russian fairy tales of the Firebird and the blessing and curse it possesses for its owner. It was first performed at the Opéra de Paris on 25 June 1910 and was an immediate success, catapulting Stravinsky to international fame. Although designed as a work for the stage, with specific passages accompanying characters and action, the music achieved equal if not greater recognition as a concert piece.
