''Ein kleines bisschen Horrorschau'' ("A little bit of horrorshow") (subtitled: ''Die Lieder aus Clockwork Orange und andere schmutzige Melodien'' The songs from Clockwork Orange and other dirty melodies" is the sixth LP by Die Toten Hosen, released in 1988. This is considered by the band as the best DTH album as of 1988. The LP is mainly a concept album based on the film ''A Clockwork Orange'' by Stanley Kubrick, which in turn is based on the book of the same name by Anthony Burgess, although not all of the songs are about the main theme. The idea of the LP has its origin during a performance of ''A Clockwork Orange'' at Theater Bonn where the band acted as supernumeraries and as supporting band. Songs 1, 4, 5, 8, 10, 12 are from the play and these are the ones recorded in Schauspielhaus Bonn, other songs were recorded in Berlin and Cologne. Die Toten Hosen (literally "The Dead Trousers", figuratively "The Deadbeats") is a German punk rock band from Düsseldorf. History The current members of Die Toten Hosen are Campino (Andreas Frege), Kuddel (Andreas von Holst), Vom (Stephen Ritchie), Andi (Andreas Meurer) and Breiti (Michael Breitkopf). All members except one are German, though Campino's mother, Jenny, was English. The drummer Vom comes from England. He joined in 1999, after previous drummer Wölli sustained injuries in a car crash. Wölli had played from 1985 to 1999 and was an honorary member of the band until his death in 2016. The drummer until 1985 was Trini Trimpop, who became the band's manager when Wölli joined. Nadsat
Nadsat is a fictional register or argot used by the teenage gang members in Anthony Burgess's dystopian novel ''A Clockwork Orange''. Burgess was a linguist and he used this background to depict his characters as speaking a form of Russian-influenced English. The name comes from the Russian suffix equivalent of "-teen" as in "thirteen" (-надцать, ''-nad·tsat''). Nadsat was also used in Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation of the book. Description Nadsat is a mode of speech used by the ''nadsat'', members of the teen subculture in the novel ''A Clockwork Orange''. Along with the album's art and several songs addressing commerce, satirical advertisements and infomercials are interspersed among the music. Test Card
A test card, also known as a test pattern or start-up/closedown test, is a television test signal, typically broadcast at times when the transmitter is active but no program is being broadcast (often at sign-on and sign-off). Used since the earliest TV broadcasts, test cards were originally physical cards at which a television camera was pointed, allowing for simple adjustments of picture quality. "Mehr davon" (''More of it'') is a song by Die Toten Hosen. It is the seventh track on the album '' Ein kleines bisschen Horrorschau''. It was also released as a promo single "We Love You / Mehr davon" in 1992 with a cover of the Rolling Stones. It is about wanting more money, reputation, speed, hate, sex and power. Initially it was not released as a single from the album, but it became popular and this is probably the reason behind the 1992 promo single. Alex (A Clockwork Orange)
Alex is a fictional character in Anthony Burgess's novel ''A Clockwork Orange'' and Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation of the same name, in which he is played by Malcolm McDowell. In the film, his surname is DeLarge, a reference to Alex calling himself The Large in the novel.
