Eilish Sheerin (born 5 October 1992) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Richmond Football Club#AFL Women's team, Richmond Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Sheerin was drafted by Richmond with their second selection and fifty eighth overall in the 2022 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut against at Kardinia Park, GMHBA Stadium in the first round of AFL Women's season seven in 2022. 2022 AFL Women's Draft
The 2022 AFL Women's draft consists of the various periods when the 18 clubs in the AFL Women's competition can recruit players prior to the competition's seventh season. Expansion club signing period The expansion clubs Essendon, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide, and Sydney are able to sign up to 14 current AFLW players before the sign and trade period. They can also pre-list under-18 players from their Next Generation Academy (NGA) region or players as open-age signings if they previously nominated for the AFLW draft and aren't on a current list. Kardinia Park is a major public park located in South Geelong, Victoria. A number of public and sporting facilities are located in the park: a major AFL stadium, a secondary football oval, a cricket field, an open air swimming pool, a number of netball courts, various sporting clubrooms, and a senior citizens centre. The park is bounded by Moorabool Street, the Geelong railway line, Kilgour Street, Latrobe Terrace, and Park Crescent. In the sport of Australian rules football, each of the eighteen players in a team is assigned to a particular named position on the field of play. These positions describe both the player's main role and by implication their location on the ground. As the game has evolved, tactics and team formations have changed, and the names of the positions and the duties involved have evolved too. The AFL Women's All-Australian team is an all-star team of women's Australian rules footballers playing in the AFL Women's (AFLW), selected by a panel at the end of each season. It represents a complete team, including interchange players and a coach, of the best-performed players during the home-and-away season. The first AFL Women's All-Australian team was selected in 2017 following the competition's inaugural season. The team also follows the AFL's tradition of the All-Australian coach being the coach of that season's premiership-winning side, with no coach being selected in 2020 when no premiership was awarded. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. Richmond Football Club
The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Between its inception in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond in 1885 and 1907, the club competed in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), winning two premierships.
