Eilidh Doyle
Eilidh Doyle (pronounced AY-lee ; née Child; born 20 February 1987) is a retired British track and field athlete who specialised in the 400 metres hurdles and the 4 x 400 metres relay. She represented Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2012 Olympic Games in London, and won an Olympic bronze medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. Doyle is the Scottish record holder for the 400 metres hurdles with 54.09 sec (2016) and the indoor 400 metres with 51.45 sec (2013). With 17 medals from major championships, Doyle retired as the most decorated Scottish track and field athlete of all time. Eilidh McIntyre
Eilidh Jane McIntyre (born 4 June 1994) is a British sailor, who won the gold medal alongside Hannah Mills in the 470 event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She won the 2019 470 World Championships, and came second at the 2017 470 World Championships. She finished third at the 2015 470 European Championships, and second at the 2019 and 2021 events, as well as having won multiple ISAF Sailing World Cup medals. Career McIntyre joined the British Sailing Team at the age of 15. In 2013, McIntyre and Sophie Weguelin won the Kiel Week 470 event. In 2014, the pair won the US Sailing's Miami Olympic Classes Regatta. McIntyre won multiple medals at the 2015 ISAF Sailing World Cup. Eilidh Margaret Barbour (; born 14 December 1982) is a Scottish television presenter and reporter. In 2017, she was named as the main presenter for BBC's golf coverage, replacing Hazel Irvine in the role. Career In 2005, Barbour graduated from the University of Stirling, having studied Film and Media Studies, with an emphasis on audio and video production. She then moved to South Korea for a year to teach English, before returning to Scotland with the intention of finding a job within broadcasting. Her persistence paid off, for six months later she got a job with STV, primarily editing its football and rugby highlights. Eilidh Watt (22 January 1908 – 25 August 1996) was a Gaelic broadcaster and writer from the Isle of Skye. She was a campaigner for equality and women's rights. Early life Eilidh (Helen) MacAskill was born on the Isle of Skye on 22 January 1908. Her mother was Chirsty MacLean, and her father was the local blacksmith in the township of Skinidin. Education and career Watt attended Portree High School and graduated from Glasgow University. She then worked as a school teacher, teaching English in Tarbert, Harris, and Portree before marrying Robert Watt and relocating to his native Dunfermline. Upon her marriage, she was required to retire from teaching, but was brought back into service as a teacher during the Second World War, rising to the position of Deputy Head of Moss-side Secondary School in Cowdenbeath. Eilidh Whiteford (born 24 April 1969) is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician who served as the Member of Parliament for Banff and Buchan from 2010–17. In the 2010–15 Parliament, she was the SNP's spokesperson for Women; for Fishing, Food and Rural Affairs; and for International Development. Eilidh Gibson (born 4 October 1995 in Kinross) is a Scottish slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2012. Gibson's best individual results include a silver in race 1 of the 2014 Canoe Slalom World Cup at Lee Valley White Water Centre, 4th place at the 2017 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships and 4th place at the 2016 European Canoe Slalom Championships. Mac-Talla (band)
(Scottish Gaelic for "echo") was a Scottish Gaelic "supergroup" formed in 1992 at the suggestion of record label owner Robin Morton. Morton credited the individual band members as some of those responsible for bringing Gaelic music to wider public attention. The group comprised three singers: Eilidh Mackenzie, a recipient of the Gold Medal, Christine Primrose, and Arthur Cormack; plus harpist and cellist Alison Kinnaird (also Morton's spouse), described by the Saltire Society in 2015 as one of Scotland's "most influential musicians" and keyboardist Blair Douglas, formerly of Runrig. The band was described by the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame, and by ''The Rough Guide to World Music: Africa, Europe and the Middle East'', as a "Gaelic supergroup".
