Eiji Sasaki
was a Japanese businessman, former Vice President of Ube Industries and former President of TYS. Early life and education Eiji Sasaki was born in Yamaguchi-shi, Yamaguchi in August 1915. He attended Yamaguchi Senior High School and then graduated from Kyoto University with a degree in economics. Career In 1940, Eiji Sasaki started his career joining Okinoyama Tanko a coal mining company (沖ノ山炭鉱 - the company later became Ube Tanko and then was absorbed into Ube Industries in 1944). In 1969 was promoted to the board of directors of TYS and board of director of Ube Industries. In 1983 he was promoted to Executive Vice President of Ube Industries and in 1984 was made President of TYS. During his career Eiji Sasaki worked on projects to support the infrastructure of Ube City such as the UBE Kohsan Central Hospital and Yamaguchi-Ube Airport. is a city located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan on the Seto Inland Sea. As of October 2016, the city has an estimated population of 168,398 and a population density of 590 persons per km2. The total area is . History as a modern municipality was established in Yamaguchi's Asa District as part of the modernization of municipalities in most prefectures in 1889. It became on November 1, 1921 in a rare direct elevation from village to city, without being a town in between. Previously a coal mining town, the city has developed an effective policy to improve its environment. Yamaguchi Ube Airport
is a domestic airport located southeast of Ube-Shinkawa Station, Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. It is the westernmost airport on the island of Honshu, and is marketed as an alternative to the New Kitakyushu Airport for Yamaguchi prefecture residents flying to and from Tokyo. History The airport opened in 1966 as Ube Airport with daily propeller service to Haneda (ANA) and Itami (JDA).
