Eighteenth Floor Block C
''Eighteenth Floor Block C'' (Chinese: 十八樓C座) is a long-running radio drama programme of Commercial Radio Hong Kong's Channel 1. The programme was first broadcast on July 3, 1968, at 7:15 pm. The backdrop of the show is the fictitious 'Chow Kei's Cafe' (周記冰室) located in Wanchai. The protagonist is the owner of the cafe, ‘Boss Chow’, and along with his employees and regular customers, they offer their differing views and opinions on the various current affairs and social issues of Hong Kong in a friendly manner. In this way, the show serves as a microcosm of Hong Kong's society at large. The broadcastings are recorded on the day of broadcast with the show covering the latest news and events taking place in Hong Kong and around the world. Commercial Radio Hong Kong (CRHK, , aka Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Company Limited is one of the two commercial radio broadcasting companies in Hong Kong along with Metro Radio Hong Kong. CRHK provides an array of entertainment, including informative, educational, artistical and cultural programmes; CRHK also provides updates on current affairs as well as news and weather reports. The station hosts the 903 Top 20, a record chart based on airtime. History CRHK was founded by George Ho Ho-Chi on 26 August 1959, when he inherited HK$50,000 from his father Sir Robert Ho Tung. The 10-year franchise of Radio Rediffusion ended its radio operation in 1959. Wanchai
Wan Chai is situated at the western part of the Wan Chai District on the northern shore of Hong Kong Island, in Hong Kong. Its other boundaries are Canal Road to the east, Arsenal Street to the west and Bowen Road to the south. The area north of Gloucester Road is often referred to as Wan Chai North. George Ho
George Ho Cho-chi, GBS, OBE, JP (3 November 1919 – 4 June 2014) was a Hong Kong media mogul. The fifth son of the influential businessman Robert Hotung, George Ho was the founder of the Commercial Radio Hong Kong and Commercial Television. Family and career George Ho was the illegitimate son of Robert Hotung, then the most influential Eurasian compradore in Hong Kong, and Kate Archer. George was bequeathed a substantial amount of money directly and indirectly. His grandfather through Robert Hotung was a Jewish Dutch man Charles Henry Maurice Bosman. George Ho studied at King's College, Hong Kong and the University of California, Berkeley.
