Geography As the name suggests, the locality is west of the town of Eidsvold. There are two mountains in the south-east of the locality: * Mount Target () * Quaggy Mountain () The Eidsvold–Theodore Road (State Route 73) runs through the locality from east (Eidsvold) to west ( Cracow). There are several state forests with the locality. Apart from these, the land use is almost entirely grazing on native vegetation. History The name Eidsvold is the name of the pastoral run operated in 1847-48 by Thomas Archer and David Archer, using the name of the town in Norway where the Norwegian constitution was signed in 1814. Eidsvoll (; sometimes written as ''Eidsvold'') is a municipality in Akershus in Viken county, Norway. It is part of the Romerike traditional region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Sundet. General information Etymology The first element is the genitive case of the word ''eid'' (Old Norse: ''eið'') and the last element is ''voll'' (Old Norse: ''vǫllr'') which means "meadow" or "field". The meaning of the word ''eid'' in this case is "a road passing around a waterfall". Archer Brothers
The Archer brothers were among the earliest European settlers in Queensland, Australia. They were explorers and pastoralists. Seven sons of William Archer, a Scottish timber merchant, they spent varying amounts of time in the colony of New South Wales, mainly in parts of what later became Queensland. Eidsvold–Theodore Road is a continuous road route in the North Burnett and Banana regions of Queensland, Australia. The entire route is signed as State Route 73. It is a state-controlled district road (number 454) rated as a local road of regional significance. Route description The road commences as Moreton Street at an intersection with the Burnett Highway (A3) in Eidsvold. It runs south-east, south-west and north-west, skirting the base of Mount Rose (a former gold mining site) before crossing the Burnett River to the west of Eidsvold. On the eastern bank of the river is Tolderodden Conservation Park, formerly part of the Eidsvold pastoral run.
