Eibergen
Eibergen (Low Saxon: ''Eibarge'') is a town and former municipality in Gelderland in the Eastern Netherlands. It is part of the Achterhoek cultural region. The administrative cooperation of about 20 municipalities in this region is the Regio Achterhoek. On 1 January 2005 the municipality of Eibergen merged with the neighbouring municipalities of Neede, Borculo and Ruurlo into the new municipality of Berkelland. As of 2021, the town had a population of 11,210. Population centres Avest, Beltrum, Eibergen, Holterhoek, Hupsel, Lintvelde, Loo, Mallem, Olden Eibergen, Rekken, Zwolle. Berkelland () is a municipality in the Netherlands province of Gelderland. It was created on 1 January 2005 from the merger of the former municipalities of Borculo, Eibergen, Neede, and Ruurlo. World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament
The World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament is an international futsal tournament for police officers. This contest takes place every year in Eibergen, Groenlo and Zieuwent in the Netherlands. Those cities are near the border with Germany. In the early 1980s the Eibergen Police department took the initiative to have a tournament with their German colleagues, to improve their cooperation. The tournament grew to be a European, and later a worldwide event. In this moment it is the greatest police indoor soccer tournament in the world. The 2013 (31st) tournament will be held in Eibergen, Groenlo, Lichtenvoorde and Zieuwent in the Netherlands. About 2900 policemen and policewomen from 50 countries and 190 teams will participate in a men's, men's 35+, and women's tournament. Menno Ter Braak
Menno ter Braak (26 January 1902 – 14 May 1940) was a Dutch modernist writer, critic, essayist, and journalist. Early career Ter Braak was born in Eibergen and grew up in the town of Tiel where he was an exemplary student. He went on to the University of Amsterdam where he majored in Dutch and History. He was a regular contributor to the student magazine Propria Cures and involved himself in the study of film (then a very young discipline). Together with Joris Ivens, Menno ter Braak was also a founder of the ''Filmliga'' (Movie League), an organisation for the study of animated film. He completed a Ph.D. dissertation on the medieval emperor Otto III and consecutively worked as a teacher in a number of secondary schools, lastly in Rotterdam. Judith Pietersen (born 3 July 1989 in Eibergen) is a Dutch volleyball player, who plays as an opposite. She is a member of the Women's National Team, and competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics. Rekken
Rekken is a village in the Netherlands, Dutch municipality of Berkelland. It lies in the most northeast corner of the Provinces of the Netherlands, province of Gelderland, about half a mile from the Germany, German border. The river Berkel enters The Netherlands east of Rekken. Rekken is also known in international aviation, by the VHF omnidirectional range called 'Rekken' (RKN). In the 12th century Rekken is known in documents as part of the Parish Eibergen. Later it was allowed by the Bishopric of Münster to form an independent parish. The ''Rekkenaren'' built a Roman Catholic Church, Catholic Church on the northern bank of the Berkel. Beltrum is a village in the region called Achterhoek in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands. Astrid Bussink (born 1975 in Eibergen, Gelderland) is a Dutch filmmaker. Her debut film is the documentary '' The Angelmakers''. She studied fine art at the Academy of fine Arts, AKI, Enschede (BA) in the Netherlands and her Master in film at the Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland. Ruurlo
Ruurlo is a village and former municipality in the province of Gelderland in the eastern part of the Netherlands. The town has a station on the Zutphen to Winterswijk railway line, and is served by trains every half-hour in both directions. In the evening there is an hourly service. Ruurlo Castle lies just outside the town and is a popular place for weddings. Borculo
Borculo is a city in the eastern Netherlands, in the municipality of Berkelland, Gelderland. Borculo was an independent municipality until 2005, when it merged with Eibergen, Neede, and Ruurlo. Other population centers in the municipality of Borculo were nearby Geesteren, Gelselaar, and Haarlo. Neede
Neede is a former Municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality and a town in the eastern Netherlands. On 1 January 2005 the municipality of Neede merged with the municipalities of Eibergen, Borculo and Ruurlo into the municipality of Berkelland.
