Ehmej Festival is a music festival held annually (since 2011) in Ehmej, a municipality located about 57 km north of Beirut, in the Byblos District. The festival's aims are to boost tourism, promote the Lebanese culture, and spread music and art from Byblos to the rest of the Lebanese area. Ehmej
Ehmej ( ar, إهمج; also spelled ''Ihmij'') is a municipality in the Byblos District of Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate, Lebanon. It is located 57 kilometers northeast of Beirut. Ehmej's inhabitants are predominantly Maronite Catholics. There are two schools in the town, one public and the other private, with a total of 308 pupils in 2006. Ehmej also contains three quarries, and as of 2006, had four companies with over five employees operating in the town. It hosts the annual Ehmej Festival. Geography Ehmej has a total land area of 1,742 hectares. The town's average elevation is 1,140 meters above sea level. Haifa Wehbe
Haifa Wehbe ( ar, هيفاء وهبي ) is a Lebanese people, Lebanese-Egyptians, Egyptian singer and actress. She has released seven studio albums, and made her acting debut in the 2008 Pepsi-produced film ''Sea of Stars''. In 2006, Wehbe was on ''People Magazine''s 50 most beautiful people list. Life and career Early life Wehbe claimed once that she was born in 1976, a date repeated by numerous sources. At one point, she mentioned that she is three years younger than her ex-husband Ahmed Abou Hashima, who was born in 1975. Her half-sister Rola Yamout posted a leaked document indicating that she was born in 1972. Byblos International Festival
The Byblos International Festival is a Lebanese festival held in Byblos, believed to be the first Phoenician city, founded around 5000 BC. The festival is the biggest in Lebanon, and attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world. History The International Festival has been held annually since 2003, in July. Baalbeck International Festival
The Baalbeck International Festival ( ar, مهرجانات بعلبك الدولية, french: Festival International de Baalbeck) is a cultural event in Lebanon. Since 1955, people from around the world have gone to the city of Baalbek in the Beqaa Valley of Lebanon to attend the annual festival. Classical music, dance, theater, opera, and jazz as well as modern world music are performed each July and August in the ancient Roman Acropolis. The presidents of the festival have been as follows: Aimée Kettaneh from 1956 to 1969, Salwa Said from 1970 to 1974, May Arida from 1975 to 2010 and Nayla de Freige from 2011 to present. The music of Lebanon has a long history. Beirut, the capital city of Lebanon, has long been known, especially in a period immediately following World War II, for its art and intellectualism. Ali El Deek
ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib ( ar, عَلِيّ بْن أَبِي طَالِب; 600 – 661 CE) was the last of four Rightly Guided Caliphs to rule Islam (r. 656 – 661) immediately after the death of Muhammad, and he was the first Shia Imam. The issue of his succession caused a major rift between Muslims and divided them into Shia and Sunni groups. Ali was assassinated in the Grand Mosque of Kufa in 661 by the forces of Mu'awiya, who went on to found the Umayyad Caliphate. The Imam Ali Shrine and the city of Najaf were built around Ali's tomb and it is visited yearly by millions of devotees.
