Mikhail Ivanovich Pugovkin (russian: Михаи́л Ива́нович Пу́говкин; July 13, 1923, Rameshki, Chukhlomsky District of Kostroma Oblast — July 25, 2008, Moscow) (aged 85) was a Soviet and Russian comic actor named a People's Artist of the USSR in 1988. He studied in the Moscow Art Theatre school under Ivan Moskvin, took part in World War II and, following demobilisation, was featured in the 1944 all-star cast adaptation of Anton Chekhov's '' The Wedding''. Another step to stardom was the 1967 comedy ''Wedding in Malinovka''. Pugovkin went on to appear in more than 100 films. His roles in Leonid Gaidai's comedies, such as '' Operation Y and Other Shurik's Adventures'' (1965), '' Twelve Chairs'' (1971), '' Ivan Vasilievich: Back to the Future'' (1973) and ''Borrowing Matchsticks'' (1980) made him one of the most popular comedians of the former Soviet Union. Aleksandr Nikolaevich Baluev (russian: Алекса́ндр Никола́евич Балу́ев; born 6 December 1958) is a Soviet and Russian theatre and film actor who appeared in more than 100 films and numerous stage productions since 1980. Life and career Aleksandr Baluev was born in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. He graduated in 1975 from Moscow School № 637. After unsuccessful attempts to enter the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute he worked for a year as assistant illuminator in the light department at Mosfilm. The second attempt was more successful, with Aleksandr entering the Moscow Art Theatre School on Pavel Massalsky's course. In 1980, he successfully completed the training and became an actor of the Soviet Army Theatre. Aleksei Alekseyevich Veselkin (russian: Алексей Алексеевич Весёлкин; 21 November 1961 in Moscow) is a Russian actor and TV game show presenter and Honoured Artist of Russia. He was a visible personality on television and in society magazines during the 1980s and 1990s, making a popular comeback in 2006 as the host of '' Sdelka?'' (Сделка "Deal?"), the Russian version of the American gameshow Deal or No Deal.
