Egmar Gonçalves
Egmar Gonçalves (born 15 August 1970) is a Singaporean former professional soccer player. Born in Brazil, he took Singaporean nationality in 2002, under the Foreign Sports Talent Scheme, in order to play for the Singapore national football team. Club career In his time with Home United FC, Gonçalves scored a total of 239 S.League goals in 11 S.League seasons and was the first recipient of the 100 S.League goals award in 2001, although he had managed 107 by the end of that season. He reached the 100 goals mark in a hat-trick against SAFFC in a 4–0 win. It was due to S.League deciding not to include the inaugural Singapore Cup goals as it was known as League Cup but backtracked on it later. He was also awarded the 200 S.League goals award in 2004 which he reached the mark, in a hat-trick again, against Sinchi in a 5–1 win. Vila Velha
Vila Velha (; Portuguese for "Old Village") is a coastal city in Espírito Santo, Brazil. It lies across from Vitória, the state capital. Its population was 501,325 (2020) and its area is 210.23 km². Singapore Cup
The Singapore Cup is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Singaporean football. Established in 1998, it is the foremost football cup competition in the country. It is open to clubs in the Singapore Premier League. Since 2005, foreign teams from other countries in Southeast Asia are occasionally invited to compete in the Singapore Cup. Chonburi Province FC from Thailand was the first foreign club reaching the final in 2006 (they lost 3–2 in the final to local club Tampines Rovers). In 2009, Bangkok Glass became the second foreign team to reach the final, losing against local club Geylang United, but they beat Tampines Rovers in 2010 to become the first foreign winners of the Singapore Cup. 2007 AFC Asian Cup Qualification
The 2007 AFC Asian Cup qualification was held in late 2005 and the final qualification round was held from February to November 2006 with 25 nations participating. For the first time, the defending champions (Japan), did not earn an automatic berth in the finals and had to compete in the qualification tournament. Twelve teams from top two of each groups joined with four host nations (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam) qualify for the final tournament. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The AFC Asian Cup is the primary association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), determining the continental champion of Asia.
