Eglinton railway station is a proposed station on the Joondalup Line in Perth, Western Australia. It is part of the Metronet project. Construction of the station Started in 2021, with expected completion . Eglinton Station will include a weather-protected bus interchange with 8 stands, approximately 400 parking bays which can be expanded to 1000, and 14 motorbike bays. The station will also contain 2 bike shelters and 10 U-rails. The station will be situated south of Pipidinny Road and east of Marmion Avenue and will be accessed off a purpose-built street, as part of the Eglinton Estates development. The station will also be situated in a cutting with at least 50 percent coverage, similar to Joondalup station, and will be accessed via a station building at ground level. Eglinton, Western Australia
Eglinton is a locality in the Western Australian capital city of Perth, approximately north of Perth's central business district on the Indian Ocean. For the most part, the suburb is covered in native banksia woodland, scrubland and heath typical of the Swan Coastal Plain. However, in recent years, there has been growth in residential estates, with a town centre to be built in the near future. There are also plans for the Joondalup railway line to be extended through the suburb (terminating in Yanchep) with Eglinton railway station to be located inside Allara estate. Transperth is the system of public transport serving Perth and Mandurah, Western Australia, managed by the state government's Public Transport Authority (PTA). Transperth Train Operations is a division of the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia. It is responsible for operating Perth’s urban passenger rail system, as part of the Transperth network. Perth's passenger rail network covers of track with 90 stations on 8 lines across the city's greater metropolitan area. Over the last three decades the rail network has undergone rapid expansion. Between 1981 and 2016 the network tripled in route length and was electrified. The Northern Suburbs Railway was opened in 1993 and was progressively extended, while the new Mandurah Line was opened in 2007. It was formed to deliver commitments made by the McGowan Government during the 2017 election campaign. Marmion Avenue is a arterial road in the northern coastal suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, linking Trigg in the south with Yanchep in the north. It forms part of State Route 71 along with West Coast Highway, which it joins onto at its southern terminus. Joondalup Railway Station
Joondalup railway station is a railway station on the Transperth network. It is located on the Joondalup line, 26 kilometres from Perth station serving the regional metropolitan city of Joondalup. History Joondalup station opened on 20 December 1992 as the interim terminus of the Joondalup line. The line was extended to Currambine a year later in 1993. In 2003, the contract for extending the platforms on seven Joondalup line stations, including Joondalup station, was awarded to Lakis Constructions. The platforms on these stations had to be extended by to accommodate long six car trains, which were planned to enter service.
