Eger ( hu, Egri járás) is a district in eastern part of Heves County. ''Eger'' is also the name of the town where the district seat is found. The district is located in the Northern Hungary Statistical Region. This district lies between of Bükk Mountains and Mátra Mountains geographical region. Geography Eger District borders with Bélapátfalva District to the north, Mezőkövesd District ''(Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County)'' to the east, Füzesabony District to the south, Gyöngyös District and Pétervására District to the west. Maklár is a municipality ( hu, község) in Heves county, in the Egri Subregion in Hungary. It lies between the villages of Kerecsend, Nagytálya, Novaj (Hungary), Szihalom and the town of Füzesabony. Felsőtárkány is a municipality in the Eger District of Heves county, Hungary. Geography The municipality lies in the Tárkány basin, at the foothills of the Bükk Mountains, on an area of 7734.6 hectares, 6 km northeast from Eger in Heves county. Egerszalók
Egerszalók is an open-air spa and village in Heves County in northeastern Hungary. The springs yield 68 °C. mineral water from an aquifer located under the volcanic Mátra Mountains. The spa is located 8 km west of the county seat of Eger, from which it is served by motorbus. Egerszalok lies 133 km from Budapest, in the Laskó stream valley between the Mátra and Bükk ranges. The village can be easily reached from the M3 highway. Description The historical and geographical associations of Egerszalók have made it a favourite spa in Hungary. The area's waters have been in use since the 1730s, although the current spa only came into operation in 1961.
