Euphemus
In Greek mythology, Euphemus (, ''Eὔphēmos'', "reputable") was counted among the Calydonian hunters and the Argonauts, and was connected with the legend of the foundation of Cyrene, Libya, Cyrene. Family Euphemus was a son of Poseidon, granted by his father the power to walk on water. His mother is variously named: (1) Europa (Greek myth), Europe, daughter of the giant Tityos; (2) Doris (Greek myth), Doris (Oris), (3) Mecionice, daughter of either Eurotas or Orion (mythology), OrionTzetzes, ''Chiliades'' 2.43 or (4) lastly, Macionassa. In some accounts he is said to have been married to Laonome, sister of Heracles. Vitaly Efimov (politician)
Vitaly Borisovich Efimov (; born 4 April 1940) is a Russian political figure and a deputy of the 6th, 7th, and 8th State Dumas. From 1967 to 1991, Efimov was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. From 1976 to 1983, he worked as the Chief Engineer of the Volga-Vyatka Territorial Transport Administration of the Ministry of Road Transport of the RSFSR. In 1983-1986, he headed the Gorky Territorial Association of Transport "Gorkiyavtotrans" of the Ministry of Transport of the USSR. From 1986 to 1990, he worked as Deputy Minister of Transport of the RSFSR. On 8 September 1990 he was appointed the Minister of Transport. He left the post in 1996 to become trade representative of the Russian Federation in Hungary. He left the post as he reached retirement age. Nina Yakovlevna Simonovich-Efimova (, 9 January 1877 Old Style and New Style dates, OS/21 January 1877 N.S. – 24 February 1948) was a Russian artist, puppet designer and one of the first professional Russian puppeteers. Together with her husband Ivan Efimov she founded the tradition of Russian puppet theater, Soviet puppet theater, acting as the driving force behind the Efimovs' presentations. Born in Saint Petersburg into a family with German-Jewish roots whose professionals included merchants, doctors, composers and academics, Simonovich-Efimova was highly educated, spending almost two decades studying art in both Russia and Paris to perfect her craft.
