Alfred Effiong
Alfred Effiong (born 29 November 1984) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Maltese club Marsaxlokk. Born in Nigeria, he represents the Malta national team. Club career On 28 June 2011, Effiong scored on his European debut for Valletta, netting the second in a 3–0 away win over Sammarinese club Tre Fiori in the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round first leg. International career Born in Nigeria, Effiong moved to Malta in 2005 and married a local in 2010. In 2014, his club president, Redeno Apap, asked if he would apply for a Maltese passport, which was granted in March 2015. Later that month, national coach Pietro Ghedin was searching for a new striker after the suspension of Michael Mifsud. Daniel Effiong
Daniel Effiong (born 17 June 1972 in Calabar) is a retired male sprinter from Nigeria. He became African 100 metres and Universiade champion in 1993. Together with Innocent Asonze, Francis Obikwelu and Deji Aliu he won a bronze medal in 4 x 100 metres relay at the 1999 World Championships, but the team was later disqualified (in August 2005) because Innocent Asonze failed a doping test in June 1999. In 100 metres his personal best time was 9.98 seconds, achieved in the semifinal of the 1993 World Championships. This ranks him sixth in Nigeria, behind Olusoji Fasuba, Davidson Ezinwa, Olapade Adeniken, Francis Obikwelu and Uchenna Emedolu.Commonwealth All-Time Lists (Men)

Nelson Asuquo Effiong (born 1953 in Oron, Akwa Ibom) is a Nigerian politician and senator representing Akwa Ibom South in the Nigerian Senate. Philip Effiong
Philip Efiong (also spelled Effiong, 18 November 1925 – 6 November 2003) was the first Vice President and the second President of Biafra, President of the now defunct Republic of Biafra during the Nigerian Civil War of 1967 to 1970. Early life Born in Ibiono Ibom in present-day Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, on 18 November 1925, Philip Effiong joined the Nigerian Armed Forces on 28 July 1945. He quickly rose through the ranks until on 11 January 1956 he received the Queen's Commission following his officer cadet training at Eaton Hall, Cheshire, Eaton Hall in Chester. The UK later commissioned him for duty in the Rhine, West Germany. He was then transferred to the Nigeria Army Ordnance Corps; then to England for further training after a peace-keeping stint in the Republic of Congo in 1961. Effiong Dickson Bob (born 1 October 1959) from Ikot Ekwere, Ubium in Akwa Ibom State is the Pro Chancellor of the University of Benin.
