Edwin Wilson (poet)
Edwin James "Peter" Wilson (27 October 1942 – 27 July 2022) was an Australian poet, painter, and lapsed scientist, with a strong interest in history. Early life and education Edwin Wilson was born on 27 October 1942 at Lismore, New South Wales. He spent his early years in the then isolated farming community of East Wardell, in far northern coastal New South Wales, having been known as 'Peter' as a child, whose father died before he was born. When his mother remarried Henry Forbes, cabinetmaker (in 1947), young 'Peter Wilson/Forbes' started school at Brunswick Heads. The 'boy poet' spent the formative decade (from 1948–1958) in Mullumbimby, prior to moving to Tweed Heads in 1959. At Mullumbimby he became a passionate orchid collector (from the surrounding rainforests). Lismore is a city in northeastern New South Wales, Australia and the main population centre in the City of Lismore Local government in Australia, local government area; it is also a regional centre in the Northern Rivers region of the State. It is situated on a low flood plain on the banks of the Wilsons River (New South Wales), Wilsons River near the latter's junction with Leycester Creek, both tributaries of the Richmond River which enters the Pacific Ocean at Ballina, New South Wales, Ballina, to the east. ABC Television is the general name for the national television services of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Until an organisational restructure in 2017/2018, ABC Television was also the name of a division of the ABC. ''Hard Quiz'' is an Australian television comedy quiz show which premiered on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) on 19 October 2016. Hosted by Tom Gleeson, the show is a spin-off of his "Hard Chat" segment on the satirical television news program ''The Weekly with Charlie Pickering''. It is filmed at the ABV (TV station), ABC Melbourne studios in Southbank, Victoria, Southbank in front of a studio audience.
