Edwin Max
Edwin Max (born 23 August 1969 in The Hague) is a former Dutch darts player. He used the nickname Mad Max for his matches. Career Max made his first World Championship debut in 2008 as a member of the British Darts Organisation, losing in the first round to eventual finalist Simon Whitlock. Max reached the last 16 of the 2007 Winmau World Masters, with notable wins over Brian Woods and 2006 British Open finalist Mark Barilli before losing to Ted Hankey. He reached the final of the 2007 Swiss Open, losing to fellow Dutchman Co Stompé. In his second appearance at the Lakeside for the 2009 BDO World Darts Championship, Max beat Krzysztof Ratajski 3-2 in round one, before losing 4-0 to Tony O'Shea in round two. Ted Hankey
Edward Hankey (born 20 February 1968) is an English former professional darts player and convicted sex offender. Nicknamed "The Count", he won the BDO World Darts Championship in 2000, was runner-up in 2001, and won the title for a second time in 2009. He moved to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tour in 2012, but suffered a stroke while playing Michael van Gerwen at the 2012 Grand Slam of Darts, and took three months away from the sport to recuperate. He lost his PDC tour card in 2014, when he was 94th in the world rankings, and returned to the BDO, where he failed to impress in the latter years of his playing career. In 2016, he made his last appearance in the BDO World Darts Championship, exiting after a 0–3 first-round defeat. Hankey struggled financially in his later career and was declared bankrupt in 2018. Tony O'Shea
Tony O'Shea (born 9 May 1961) is an English professional darts player. His squat figure has resulted in the nickname "Silverback". O'Shea has reached the finals of seven British Darts Organisation (BDO) major darts tournaments, but to date has never won one. He also acts as a regular commentator for televised BDO coverage. Krzysztof Ratajski
Krzysztof Ratajski (Polish pronunciation: ; born 1 January 1977) is a Polish professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. His biggest achievement to date was winning the 2017 World Masters. Ratajski also plays on the Professional Darts Corporation's ProTour and has represented Poland at the PDC World Cup of Darts on numerous occasions. He is the most successful darts player to come from Poland. Career Ratajski's first major run came in the 2007 Czech Open where he reached the semi finals. 2009 BDO World Darts Championship
The 2009 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship was the 32nd World Championship organised by the British Darts Organisation. Mark Webster was the defending men's champion having won the title for the first time in the 2008 final against Simon Whitlock, but he was eliminated 4–0 by John Walton in the second round. The title was eventually won by 2000 champion Ted Hankey, who won 7–6 against Tony O'Shea, in a match which lasted just under two and a half hours. The defending women's champion, Anastasia Dobromyslova, was due to defend her championship, having beaten seven-time champion Trina Gulliver in the 2008 final, but on 7 December 2008 she resigned from the BDO/WDF setup after her defeat in the Winmau World Masters to Francis Hoenselaar. Co Stompé
Jacobus Wilhelmus "Co" Stompé (born 10 September 1962) is a Dutch former professional darts player. He was nicknamed The Matchstick because of his almost bald head and very thin appearance, making him look like a matchstick. He was also one of very few professionals who played in longsleeved shirts. Darts career BDO For years, Stompé was considered the third best Dutch darts player behind Raymond van Barneveld and Roland Scholten. After reaching the semi-finals of the 2000 World Championship, he dropped back behind a younger emerging Dutch group of players. Stompé came back to fame with the defeat of reigning BDO champion Jelle Klaasen in the first round of the 2007 World Championship. Mark Barilli
Mark Barilli (born 14 November 1973) is a Scottish darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is well known for his throwing style where he changes the speed of his throw from fast to slow alternatively, and also for attempting outrageous outshots including one occasion where he attempted to check out 120 with 3 double 20s in a competitive match. Along with Co Stompé, he is also notable for playing competitive darts in a long-sleeved shirt.
