Edwin Evers (fisherman)
Edwin Evers (born November 30, 1974), is a professional bass fisherman from Talala, Oklahoma. Evers was born in Louisiana, MO and his family moved to Texas and then to Seneca, Illinois where he attended high school. He played football for Southeastern Oklahoma State University Savage Storm as a defensive back. Evers graduated in 1997 with a degree in Communication, and a double minor in Marketing and Business Management. He lives in Talala, Oklahoma with his wife Tuesday, his daughter Kylee, and son Kade. He was the 2016 Bassmaster Classic The Bassmaster Classic (known as the Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic for sponsorship) is a tournament in the sport of professional bass fishing. It was first held in 1971 on Lake Mead, Nevada. Originally it was a fall event, (1971-1983 ... Champion with a total weigh in of 60lbs -7oz and took the cash winnings of $300,000 (US). Talala, Oklahoma
Talala is a town in Rogers County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 273 at the 2010 census. History The Talala Post Office was established June 23, 1890. Talala was named for Captain John Talala of the 3rd Regiment, Indian Home Guard and a prominent Cherokee. It is mentioned in the Talala History Book that the word ta la la is associated with the tapping of a woodpecker's bill, which the woodpecker is a red-headed woodpecker that had these numerous birds there and even today. Bassmaster Classic
The Bassmaster Classic (known as the Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic for sponsorship) is a tournament in the sport of professional bass fishing. It was first held in 1971 on Lake Mead, Nevada. Originally it was a fall event, (1971-1983) but it switched to a summer event in 1984 and then to a late winter event in 2006. The event has turned into a three-day spectacle, complete with a theatrical presentation of the weigh-ins and hours of television coverage on FS1 and FOX.
