Edwige Belmore
Edwige, also known as Edwige Belmore (September 1957 - September 22, 2015) was a French model, singer and actor. She was considered an icon of 1980s France, and was called the "Queen of the punks". She founded and sang with the group Mathématiques modernes, as well as being the public face of the club Le Palace. Biography Edwige Bessuand was born in September 1957 in Paris, and was taken into state care after being abandoned. As a teenager, she lived in the Kremlin-Bicêtre. Her adoptive parents separated and kicked her out of the house when she was 17.Interview: Edwige went to live with Maud Molyneux and Paquita Paquin, on the rue Vavin, where she gradually turned into punk, shaving her hair and dyeing it platinum when it grew back. Jean-Paul Gaultier
Jean Paul Gaultier (; born 24 April 1952) is a French haute couture and Ready-to-wear, prêt-à-porter fashion designer. He is described as an "enfant terrible" of the fashion industry and is known for his unconventional designs with motifs including corsets, marinières, and Steel and tin cans, tin cans. Gaultier founded his self-titled fashion label in 1982, and expanded with a line of Perfume, fragrances in 1993. He was the creative director for French luxury house Hermès from 2003 to 2010, and retired following his 50th-anniversary haute couture show during Paris Fashion Week in January 2020. Scopitone
Scopitone is a type of jukebox featuring a 16 mm film component. Scopitone films were a forerunner of music videos. The 1959 Italian Cinebox/Colorama and Color-Sonics were competing, lesser-known technologies of the time one year before the Scopitone in France. Based on Soundies technology developed during World War II, color 16 mm film shorts with a magnetic soundtrack were designed to be shown in a specially designed jukebox. The difference between the Panoram and the Scopitone jukebox was that with Panoram the 16mm films were black and white with optical sound and there was no selection among the 8 short films in the jukebox, whereas Scopitone featured color (in the US produced films Technicolor), with hifi magnetic soundtracks, with selection available between all 36 Scoptione films in the Scopitone Jukebox. Maripol
Maripol (b. 1957) is an artist, film producer, fashion designer and stylist. She has had an influence on the looks of influential artists such as Madonna and Grace Jones. As part of the 1980s New York downtown scene, she captured the likes of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and Debbie Harry with her Polaroid camera. Maripol also produced films, most notably ''Downtown 81''. Life and career Maripol was born in Rabat, Morocco. She was a student of the École des Beaux-Arts in Nantes, France. She was brought up in France, moving to New York City at the age of 19 in 1976 with her then-boyfriend Edo Bertoglio. Within a year, she was working as a designer at Italian fashion label Fiorucci, where she would soon become art director. Maripol took her first Polaroid with an SX-70 camera in 1977. Helmut Newton (born Helmut Neustädter; 31 October 192023 January 2004) was a German-Australian photographer. The ''New York Times'' described him as a "prolific, widely imitated fashion photographer whose provocative, erotically charged black-and-white photos were a mainstay of ''Vogue'' and other publications." Early life Newton was born in Berlin, the son of Klara "Claire" (née Marquis) and Max Neustädter, a button factory owner. His family was Jewish.
