Edward Wienholt
Edward Wienholt (1833–1904) was a politician in Queensland, Australia. He was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Politics Wienholt was elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly in Western Downs at the 1868 colonial election on 14 September. The Western Downs seat was abolished at the 1873 election, and Weinholt contested and won Darling Downs on 4 November 1873. Wienhold was an adherent of Sir Arthur Palmer, who served as Premier of Queensland from 1870 to 1874. Wienhold supported free trade and the rights of landholders, and the restriction of free education. He held the seat until he resigned on 1 February 1875 as he intended to travel to Europe. Personal life Edward Wienholt was born in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, Wales on 28 March 1833, the son of John Birkett Wienholt (1775–1852), a merchant, and his second wife Sarah, . Fassifern Homestead
Fassifern Homestead is a heritage-listed homestead at 1008B Boonah-Fassifern Road, Kalbar, Scenic Rim Region, Queensland, Australia. It was built circa 1880. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 13 November 2008. History Fassifern Homestead is a single-storeyed timber residence erected to replace an earlier homestead on the same site. The Fassifern run, first taken up by John Cameron in 1841-1842, was one of the earliest licensed runs in the Moreton pastoral district, which was proclaimed on 10 May 1842. In 1857 Fassifern became part of the Wienholt family's complex and ultimately extensive Queensland pastoral empire and in 1869 was amalgamated with the adjacent runs of Moogerah and Tarome as the consolidated Fassifern run. Ross-on-Wye (Welsh: ''Rhosan ar Wy'') is a market town in England, near the border with Wales. It had a population of 10,582 according to the 2011 census, estimated at 11,309 in 2019. Arthur Hunter Palmer
Sir Arthur Hunter Palmer (28 December 1819 – 20 March 1898) was an Irish-Australian politician who served as the fifth Premier of Queensland, in office from 1870 to 1874. He later held ministerial office in Thomas McIlwraith's ministry from 1879 to 1881, before serving as President of the Queensland Legislative Council from 1881 until his death in 1898. Early life Palmer was born in Armagh, Ireland, the son of Lieutenant Arthur Palmer, RN, and his wife, Emily ''née'' Hunter. Palmer was educated at Youghal Grammar School and by a private tutor in Dublin. Palmer emigrated to New South Wales in 1838, arriving in Sydney on the ''City of Edinburgh''. Palmer worked for many years for Henry Cary Dangar on his New England stations, eventually becoming general manager of all Dangar's holdings.
