Edward Sutcliffe
Edward Sutcliffe (born 1978) is a British painter based in London. He is known for still-life and portraiture, and he has painted prominent figures such as Neil Kinnock and Glenda Jackson. Education Sutcliffe was educated at Aberystwyth University where he studied Art History, and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design where he took a post-graduate diploma in fine art. Notable works Sutcliffe has painted a number of prominent political figures including Glenda Jackson, Sir Paul Stephenson, and the British Labour Party politician Neil Kinnock. His portrait of Neil Kinnock was exhibited at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition in 2014, and his portrait of Glenda Jackson was exhibited at the BP Portrait Award in 2011. In 2009, Sutcliffe's work "On Assi Ghat" was selected by the National Gallery Scotland be the featured on the publicity materials promoting that year's show. The Mall Galleries
The Galleries (formerly The Mall Bristol, but originally opened in 1991 as The Galleries Shopping Centre) is a shopping mall situated in the Broadmead shopping centre in Bristol city centre, England. Functioning as one of the city's retail malls, it is a three-Storey building, which spans over Fairfax Street. History The Galleries Shopping Centre as it was originally known, opened in October 1991 in the wake of a UK recession, the shopping centre was later bought by The Mall Shopping Centre Fund (and renamed the Mall Bristol), managed by Capital & Regional and Aviva Investors. Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize
The Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize is an annual art award, intended to encourage creative representational painting and draughtsmanship. It gives out prizes totalling £25,000. The prize originated in London in 2005, with a collaboration between the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers and the Lynn Foundation. The final exhibition has been held at the Mall Galleries, London, since 2012. Central Saint Martins is a public tertiary art school in London, England. It is a constituent college of the University of the Arts London. The National Portrait Gallery (NPG) is an art gallery in London housing a collection of portraits of historically important and famous British people. It was arguably the first national public gallery dedicated to portraits in the world when it opened in 1856. The gallery moved in 1896 to its current site at St Martin's Place, off Trafalgar Square, and adjoining the National Gallery (London), National Gallery. It has been expanded twice since then. Compton Cricket Club
The Compton Cricket Club (CCC), or the "Homies and the POPz", is a cricket club based in Compton, Los Angeles County, California, USA. The CCC is the only all American-born exhibition cricket team. The CCC has toured the UK four times. The night of the photo shoot for an ad campaign featuring the CCC modelling the new National English Football jersey in LA, one of the team members was an innocent bystander in a drive-by shooting in Compton and died.
