Edward Adams Spencer (November 5, 1881 – May 6, 1965) was a British athlete who competed mainly in the race walk. Edward John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, (24 January 192429 March 1992), styled Viscount Althorp until June 1975, was a British nobleman, military officer, and courtier. He was the father of Diana, Princess of Wales, and the maternal grandfather of William, Prince of Wales, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. Early life, education and military career Lord Spencer was born Edward John Spencer, Viscount Althorp, the only son and younger child of Albert Spencer, 7th Earl Spencer, and his wife the former Lady Cynthia Hamilton, second daughter of the 3rd Duke of Abercorn. He was born on 24 January 1924 in their family home at 24 Sussex Square, Bayswater, London. He was educated at Eton, the Royal Military College at Sandhurst, and the Royal Agricultural College. Sir Edward Spencer (1594 – 16 February 1656) was an English landowner, lawyer, knight, nobleman, and politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1621 and 1648. Life Spencer was the son of Robert Spencer, 1st Baron Spencer of Wormleighton and his wife Margaret Willoughby the daughter of Sir Francis Willoughby and Elizabeth Lyttelton. He was baptised at Brington on 2 March 1594. He matriculated at Corpus Christi College, Oxford on 13 November 1609, aged 14 and was awarded BA on 18 February 1612. In 1618 he was called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn. In 1621, Spencer was elected Member of Parliament for Brackley. He was re-elected MP for Brackley in 1624 and 1625. He was of Boston Manor when he was knighted at Hampton Court on 27 December 1625. In 1626 he was elected MP for Middlesex. He was re-elected MP for Middlesex in May 1648 as a recruiter to the Long Parliament, but was excluded under Pride's Purge in December. Spencer died at the age of 61 and was ... Edward Spencer (Canadian Politician)
Edward Samuel Spencer (January 2, 1893 – June 17, 1973) was a civil engineer and politician in Newfoundland. He represented Grand Falls from 1949 to 1959, Bonavista North from 1959 to 1962 and Fogo from 1962 to 1966 in the Newfoundland House of Assembly. The son of Edward Thomas Spencer and Sarah Roberts, he was born in Pilley's Island and received his primary education in Newfoundland, going on to study engineering with the International Correspondence School of Scranton, Pennsylvania. He began work with the Nova Scotia Steel Company at Wabana in 1908, as a surveyor and then assistant engineer. In 1914, Spencer married Daisie E. Sellars. In 1923, he became work as an engineer working on highways for the Newfoundland government. He was in charge of construction of the Botwood seaplane base and then was maintenance engineer at Gander airport.
