Edward Rede (by 1476 – 26 October 1544), of Norwich, Norfolk, was an English politician. Norwich
Norwich () is a cathedral city and district of Norfolk, England, of which it is the county town. Norwich is by the River Wensum, about north-east of London, north of Ipswich and east of Peterborough. As the seat of the See of Norwich, with one of the country's largest medieval cathedrals, it is the largest settlement and has the largest urban area in East Anglia. The population of the Norwich City Council local authority area was estimated to be 144,000 in 2021, which was an increase from 143,135 in 2019. A member of parliament (MP) is the representative in parliament of the people who live in their electoral district. In many countries with bicameral parliaments, this term refers only to members of the lower house since upper house members often have a different title. Norwich was a borough constituency in Norfolk which was represented in the House of Commons of England from 1298 to 1707, in the House of Commons of Great Britain from 1707 to 1800, and in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom from 1801 until it was abolished for the 1950 United Kingdom general election, 1950 general election. Consisting of the city of Norwich in Norfolk, it returned two members of parliament (MPs), elected by the Plurality-at-large voting, bloc vote system. It was replaced in 1950 by two new single-member constituencies, Norwich North (UK Parliament constituency), Norwich North and Norwich South (UK Parliament constituency), Norwich South.
