Edward McCrorie
Edward McCrorie is a Professor Emeritus of English at Providence College in Providence, RI. He is the author of six collections of poetry and three verse translations of epics by Virgil and Homer. Biography He was educated in local schools in Rhode Island and spent two and one half years at Our Lady of Providence Seminary in Warwick Neck, Rhode Island. From 1955 to 1959 he served with the U.S. Navy as an aircraft electrician, visiting ports in England and Greece. He then resumed his education at Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts, graduating in 1962, and a masters of arts in English from Villanova University in 1964. He began his career as an English Professor at Providence College in September 1964, and continued graduate work at Brown University, earning the Ph.D. in the spring of 1970. Harold Bloom
Harold Bloom (July 11, 1930 – October 14, 2019) was an American literary critic and the Sterling Professor of Humanities at Yale University. In 2017, Bloom was described as "probably the most famous literary critic in the English-speaking world." Following the publication of his first book in 1959, Bloom wrote more than 50 books, including over 40 books of literary criticism, several books discussing religion, and a novel. During his lifetime, he edited hundreds of anthologies concerning numerous literary and philosophical figures for the Chelsea House publishing firm. Bloom's books have been translated into more than 40 languages. Bloom was elected to the American Philosophical Society in 1995. The Bloomsbury Review
''The Bloomsbury Review'' (''TBR'') was a nationally distributed literary magazine founded by Thomas Auer (1953–2003) in Denver, Colorado in 1980. It focused on small, regional, university, and international presses, as well as "smaller" titles from large publishers. Authors Tony Hillerman, Wallace Stegner and Clarissa Pinkola Estes have praised it. The magazine received an award for excellence in the arts from the Denver mayor's office in 2008. It was published by Owaissa Communications Company, Inc. and in 2010 had a total circulation of 50,000, including 10,000 paid subscribers.
