Edward Lyons (British Politician)
Edward Lyons, Queen's Counsel, QC (17 May 1926 – 23 April 2010) was a British politician. Early life Lyons was born in Glasgow and then the family moved to Leeds. He was educated at Roundhay School and Leeds University. Following World War II, he worked as a Russian Interpreting, interpreter in Germany attached to the Control commission (1946–48). He became a barrister, called to the bar by Lincoln's Inn in 1952. Political career Lyons contested Harrogate (UK Parliament constituency), Harrogate in 1964, but was elected Labour Party (UK) Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament for Bradford East (UK Parliament constituency), Bradford East in 1966. Eddie Lyons
Eddie Lyons (November 25, 1886 – August 30, 1926) was an American film actor, director, writer, and producer of the silent era. He appeared in 388, directed 153, wrote for 93, and produced 40 films between 1911 and 1926. He was born in Beardstown, Illinois, and died in Pasadena, California. Lyons was often paired with actor Lee Moran and the two made several comedic films together. Lyons performed in vaudeville and acted in stock theater companies in Chicago before he began acting in films. He worked for the Nestor Film Company, first as an actor and then as director of one of the company's units. His brother, Harry Lyons, also was an actor. Lyons married actress Virginia Kirtley in 1916, and they had a daughter, Frances Lyons, who was an actress. On August 30, 1926, Lyons died in the Bishop Sanitarium in Pasadena, California, aged 40. Eddie Lyons (footballer)
Albert Edward Lyons (20 May 1920 – November 1996) was an English professional football full back who played in the Football League for Bury, Millwall, Crewe Alexandra and Rochdale. After his retirement as a player, Lyons served Brentford in a number of backroom roles for over 30 years. Playing career A full back, Lyons began his career in wartime football with Stockport County and after the war, he played in the Football League for Bury, Millwall, Crewe Alexandra and Rochdale. He ended his career in non-league football with Southern League clubs Dartford and Gravesend & Northfleet and won the league title with the latter club in the 1957–58 season. Physiotherapy and coaching career After retiring from football, Lyons became assistant trainer at Brentford. He also helped Ted Gaskell with the running of the club's short-lived 'A' team in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Edward Hoyte Lyons (May 12, 1923 – January 25, 2009), nicknamed "Mouse", was a Major League Baseball second baseman who played for the Washington Senators (1901–60), Washington Senators in . Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Lyons signed a contract out of high school with the Washington Senators when he was 17. While in the minor leagues, his baseball career was interrupted by World War II when he joined the United States Navy. He made his Major League debut with the Washington Senators in 1947. Ed Lyon is a British tenor. Though known primarily for singing in baroque operas and oratorios, Lyon has also sung roles in operas by composers from Mozart and Haydn to Stravinsky and Britten. Early life and education Lyon comes from Yorkshire and attended Harrow School.
