	Sir Edward Knatchbull, 4th Baronet Sir Edward Knatchbull, 4th Baronet (c. 1674 – 3 April 1730) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons of England from 1702 to 1705 and in the House of Commons of Great Britain variously between 1713 and 1730. Knatchbull was the eldest son of Sir Thomas Knatchbull, 3rd Baronet and his wife Mary Dering, daughter of Sir Edward Dering, 2nd Baronet. In 1702, Knatchbull was elected Member of Parliament for Rochester and held the seat to 1705. In 1712, he succeeded his father in the baronetcy. In 1713, he was elected MP for Kent and represented the constituency until 1715. He was elected MP for Kent again in 1722 and held the seat until 1727. In the following year, he was returned for Lostwithiel, a seat he held until his death on 3 April 1730. Knatchbull married Alice Wyndham, daughter of Colonel John Wyndham and sister of Thomas Wyndham, 1st Baron Wyndham before 1698. They had eight children, three daughters and five sons. 	Sir Edward Knatchbull, 7th Baronet Sir Edward Knatchbull, 7th Baronet (12 December 1704 – 21 November 1789) was an Irish politician. He was the third son of Sir Edward Knatchbull, 4th Baronet and Alice Wyndham, daughter of Colonel John Wyndham. In 1763, he succeeded his nephew Sir Wyndham Knatchbull-Wyndham, 6th Baronet as baronet. Knatchbull was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Armagh Borough in the Irish House of Commons from 1727 until 1760. Knatchbull married Grace Legge, second daughter of William Legge. They had five daughters and three sons. He died, aged 84, and was succeeded in the baronetcy by his only surviving son Edward Edward is an English given name. 	Sir Edward Knatchbull, 8th Baronet Sir Edward Knatchbull, 8th Baronet (22 May 1758 – 1 September 1819) was a British politician and baronet. Background He was the only surviving son of Sir Edward Knatchbull, 7th Baronet and his wife Grace Legge, second daughter of William Legge. In 1789, he succeeded his father as baronet. Knatchbull was educated at Tunbridge and Winchester School. He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford in 1777 and received a Doctorate of Civil Law by the University of Oxford in 1810. Career Knatchbull was High Sheriff of Kent in 1785. He entered the British House of Commons in 1790, sitting for Kent until 1802. He represented the constituency as Member of Parliament (MP) again from 1806 until his death in 1819. He was listed 'friendly' to the abolition of the slave trade and on 27 April 1792 he proposed that the abolition of the slave trade, which he supported, should nevertheless be deferred until 1796 and carried his point by 151 votes to 132.
