Edward J. White
Edward J. White (March 15, 1903 – September 24, 1973) was an American film producer. He was best known for Westerns, particularly ones starring Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. He also produced the TV series ''Stories of the Century'', which won an Emmy Award for Best Western or Adventure Series in 1955. He died in Culver City, California on September 24, 1973. ''Along the Navajo Trail'' is a 1945 American Western film directed by Frank McDonald and starring Roy Rogers, Gabby Hayes and Dale Evans. The film's story was based on a William Colt MacDonald novel. The film marked the debut of the Cuban actress Estelita Rodriguez, who Republic Pictures then began to build up into a star. Its title song is '' Along the Navajo Trail'', an instrumental version of which appears with the opening credits, with a brief vocal version during the last twenty seconds of the film. ''Colorado Sundown'' is a black and white 1952 American Western film directed by William Witney. It mixes genres: western, musical, crime story and comedy. Interspersed during the action are musical selections sung by The Republic Rhythm Riders, including a rare solo by Slim Pickens Plot The film opens with a runaway stage with Rex (Rex Allen) and Slim (Slim Pickens) in pursuit. Plot The owner of the El Coronado Mine is ambushed on the road into town by thieves, who steal a wagon full of uranium ore. The owner is found by linemen of the Coronado Light & Power Company, but dies at the town's doctor's office before regaining consciousness. The insurance company who has insured the ore, hires Roy to find out whether the wagon accidentally went off the road and if the ore fell into the Coronado Dam reservoir. Roy goes undercover. With the help of the town's doctor who Roy has known for years, he gets a job as a lineman, working for the power company, which supplies electricity to the mine. '' The Far Frontier '' is a 1948 American Western film starring Roy Rogers. Plot Tom Sharper of the border patrol stops a truck to inspect its cargo. He is knocked cold by the drivers, who report back to their boss, Bart Carroll. Coming from a cattle drive, rancher Roy Rogers hopes to visit his old friend Tom, but he's not there. Tom's dad is a former marshal who has tangled before with store owner Willis Newcomb, who is masterminding a scheme to transport U.S. criminal fugitives from Mexico prisons across the border. Tom has amnesia. Bart decides to frame Tom by shooting a rancher with Tom's gun. He becomes the object of a manhunt, but Roy finds him first and is able to restore Tom's memory.
