Edward Hulewicz
Edward Hulewicz (22 November 1937 – 4 September 2022) was a Polish singer and composer. Life and career Born in Berezne, the son of a professional violinist, Hulewicz studied at the Higher School of Pedagogy in Gdańsk and started his career in the mid-1960s with the band , best known for the Hulewicz-penned hit "Siała baba mak". After the breakup of the group, Hulewicz entered another popular band of the time, , with whom he also collaborated as a composer and recorded several singles including the hit "Obietnice". Hulewicz began his solo career in 1971, getting the peak of his fame thanks to the participation in several editions of the Sopot International Song Festival and of the Opole Song Festival, and to hits such as "Za Zdrowie Pań", "Paskuda" and "Bo jedno życie mam". Berezne
Berézne ( uk, Бере́зне, russian: Берёзно, pl, Bereźne) is a city in Rivne Oblast, Ukraine, located on the Sluch River north of Rivne. It is the administrative centre of the Berezne Raion. Population: Overview Berezne (historically known also as Bereźno as well as pl, Jędrzejów, and uk, Андріїв) was established in 1446 within the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. Since the Union of Lublin the town was part of the Kingdom of Poland, where it remained until the Partitions of Poland by Austria, Prussia and Russia. The town was overrun by Khmelnytsky in the Khmelnytsky Uprising of 1648 and experienced bloody pogroms which took many innocent lives. Annexed by the Russian Empire in 1793, Berezne was ceded to Poland in 1919–21 during the Peace of Riga. Opole Song Festival
The National Festival of Polish Song in Opole ( pl, Krajowy Festiwal Piosenki Polskiej w Opolu, KFPP) is an annual music festival in Opole, Poland. Together with the Sopot Festival it is one of the two most important music festivals in Poland. The Opole Festival is meant as a summary of the past year's achievements by Polish song writers and performers.
