Ed Hooper (politician)
Ed Hooper (born August 5, 1947) is a Republican member of the Florida Senate, representing the 21st District, which includes Clearwater and Largo in northern Pinellas County and western Pasco County, since 2018. History Hooper was born in Statesville, North Carolina, and moved to the state of Florida in 1972, where he attended St. Petersburg College, studying fire science and emergency medicine studies. He worked for twenty four years as a firefighter in Clearwater. In 1996, Hooper was elected to the Clearwater City Commission, defeating incumbent City Commissioner Sue Berfield in the process. When incumbent State Representative John Morroni was unable to seek another term in the legislature in 2000, Hooper ran to succeed him in the 50th District, which was based in northern Pinellas County and faced Kim Berfield, the daughter of Sue Berfield, in the Republican primary. He is most widely known for his work in military affairs reporting and his coverage of historic preservation and U.S. veterans issues. Edward Hooper (MP)
Edward Hooper, FRS, (c. 1701–1795) of Worthy Park, Hampshire was a British lawyer and Whig politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1734 to 1748. Hooper was the eldest son of Edward Hooper of Heron (or Hurn) Court, Christchurch, Hampshire and his wife Lady Dorothy Ashley Cooper, daughter of Anthony Ashley-Cooper, 2nd Earl of Shaftesbury. He was admitted at Middle Temple in 1717 and matriculated at Trinity College, Oxford on 5 May 1720, aged 18. He was called to the bar in 1724. Hooper stood unsuccessfully for Christchurch in a contest at the 1727 British general election. He was returned unopposed as a Whig Member of Parliament for Christchurch at the 1734 British general election. In Parliament he attached himself to William Pulteney, and spoke on 16 November 1739 supporting Pulteney's bill to encourage seamen by giving them the Government's share in the prize money. The oral polio vaccine (OPV) AIDS hypothesis is a now-discredited hypothesis that the AIDS pandemic originated from live polio vaccines prepared in chimpanzee tissue cultures, accidentally contaminated with simian immunodeficiency virus and then administered to up to one million Africans between 1957 and 1960 in experimental mass vaccination campaigns. Data analyses in molecular biology and phylogenetic studies contradict the OPV AIDS hypothesis; consequently, scientific consensus regards the hypothesis as disproven. Ted Hooper
Ted Hooper MBE NDB (21 September 1918 – 19 March 2010) was a British bee keeper and author of ''Guide to Bees & Honey'' (1976, fourth edition 1997). The book is a standard text recommended by the British Beekeepers' Association (BBKA) as part of the BBKA exam syllabus. He also co-authored ''The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Beekeeping'' (Roger Morse and Ted Hooper, 1985). Hooper was born at Colyton, Devon Colyton is a town in Devon, England. It is located within the East Devon local authority area, the river River Coly runs through it. It is from Seaton and from Axminster. Ted Hooper (rugby League)
Edward James Hooper (1871–1925) was an Australian rugby league referee and administrator. Born in Kent, England, Hooper played rugby union in Sydney before becoming a referee in the sport. When the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) formed in 1908, marking the start of professional rugby league in Australia, he joined the ranks of players and referees who switched to the new code, becoming the president of its referees' association.
