	Ed Herman Edward Benson Herman (born October 2, 1980) is an American professional mixed martial artist currently competing in the Light Heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional competitor since 2002, Herman was a finalist on SpikeTV's ''The Ultimate Fighter 3'', and has also competed for Strikeforce and Pancrase. Herman currently has the longest uninterrupted tenure on the active roster in the UFC (made promotional debut on June 24, 2006). Background Herman was born and primarily raised in Vancouver, Washington by his father who competed in wrestling for The University of Iowa. 	Edward Hermon Edward Hermon (2 April 1822 – 6 May 1881) was a British cotton magnate and Conservative Party politician. At the 1868 general election he was elected on his first attempt a Member of Parliament (MP) for the two-seat constituency of Preston in Lancashire. He was re-elected in the 1874 and in 1880 general elections, and held the seat until he died in office in 1881, aged 59. The resulting by-election in Preston was held on 23 May 1881, and won by the Conservative candidate William Ecroyd. Hermon's last recorded contribution to debates in the House of Commons was eight days before his death, aged 59, on 28 April 1881, when he asked Prime Minister Gladstone a sceptical question about the proposed commercial treaty with France. 	Edward John Herrmann Edward John Herrmann (November 6, 1913 – December 22, 1999) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as bishop of the Diocese of Columbus in Ohio from 1973 to 1982. He previously served as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington D.C. from 1966 to 1973. Biography Early life Herrmann was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on November 6, 1913, the son of Episcopalian parents, Walter E. and Jennie Doyle Herrmann, who owned a small grocery store.
