Edward Craig (cricketer)
Edward John Craig (born 26 March 1942) is an English academic philosopher, editor of the ''Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy'', and former Knightbridge Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cambridge. He is also a former cricketer at first-class level: a right-handed Batting (cricket), batsman for Cambridge University and Lancashire. Education and academic career Craig was born in Formby, Lancashire, and educated at Charterhouse School, Charterhouse. He read philosophy at Trinity College, Cambridge (1960–1963), and was Reader in Philosophy at Cambridge from 1992 to 1998. He became Knightbridge Professor of Philosophy in 1998, a chair he held until his retirement in 2006. He is a Fellow of Churchill College. He edited the journal ''Ratio (journal), Ratio'' from 1988 to 1992. Cricket career From Charterhouse School he attended Trinity College, Cambridge. Routledge Encyclopedia Of Philosophy
The ''Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy'' is an encyclopedia of philosophy edited by Edward Craig that was first published by Routledge in 1998 (). Originally published in both 10 volumes of print and as a CD-ROM, in 2002 it was made available online on a subscription basis. The online version is regularly updated with new articles and revisions to existing articles. It has 1,300 contributors providing over 2,000 scholarly articles. – Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy Single-volume editions Two single-volume editions of the encyclopedia have been published, ''The Concise Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy'', first published in 1999 (), and ''The Shorter Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy'', first published in 2005 ().
