Edward Collins (Irish Politician)
Edward Collins (1 February 1941 – 4 March 2019) was an Irish Fine Gael politician. He first stood for election in the Waterford (Dáil constituency), Waterford constituency at a 1966 Waterford by-election, by-election in 1966, but was unsuccessful. He was first elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fine Gael Teachta Dála (TD) for the Waterford constituency at the 1969 Irish general election, 1969 general election and was re-elected at each subsequent election until he was defeated at the 1987 Irish general election, 1987 general election. He served as a Minister of State at the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Minister of State at the Department of Industry and Energy under the Government of the 22nd Dáil, 1981–82 coalition and was reappointed after the November 1982 Irish general election, second 1982 election. A Minister of State ( ga, Aire Stáit) in Republic of Ireland, Ireland (also called a junior minister) is of non-cabinet rank attached to one or more Department of State (Ireland), Departments of State of the Government of Ireland and assists the Minister of the Government responsible for that Department. Richard Bruton (born 15 March 1953) is an Irish Fine Gael politician who has served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for Dublin Bay North since 2016, and previously from 1982 to 2016 for the Dublin North-Central constituency. He is the Chairman of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party since July 2020. Jim Fitzsimons
James Fitzsimons (born 16 December 1936) is a former Irish Fianna Fáil politician. A publican from Navan, County Meath, he was educated at St Patrick's Classical School in Navan. Fitzsimons was elected to the 21st Dáil as a Fianna Fáil Teachta Dála (TD) for the Meath constituency on his first attempt at the 1977 general election, and re-elected until retiring at the 1987 general election to concentrate on his European Parliament seat. He was succeeded in the Dáil by Noel Dempsey. He was appointed as Minister of State at the Department of Industry and Energy on 28 October 1982 by the short-lived 1982 Haughey Government in a reshuffle.
