Edvin Alten
Edvin Alten (1876 – 1967) was a Norwegian judge. He was born in Tønsberg. He worked as deputy under-secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice and the Police from 1918, and as a Supreme Court Justice from 1925 to 1948. He was married to Ragna Aass (1880–1975). His daughter Berit married writer Asbjørn Aarnes, and his daughter Rønnaug became a notable actor, and was married to Georg Løkkeberg Georg Løkkeberg (20 November 1909 – 19 August 1986) was a Norwegian actor and theatre director. Rønnaug Alten
Rønnaug Alten (9 February 1910 – 20 January 2001) was a Norwegian actress and stage instructor. Biography She was born in Tromsø, Norway. Her parents were Emil Bredenbech Melle (1878–1950) and Ragna Aass (1880–1975). After her parents' divorce in 1913, she was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Supreme Court Justice Edvin Alten (1876–1967). Her sister Berit Alten (1915–2002) was married to literary historian Asbjørn Aarnes (1923–2013). She grew up in Kristiania (now Oslo) and attended Frogner School graduating artium in 1928. In 1932, she was married to actor Georg Løkkeberg (1909–1986). Their marriage was dissolved in 1947. She was the mother of film director and screenwriter Pål Løkkeberg (1934–1998). She made her stage debut at Den Nationale Scene in 1930 as "Viola" in Shakespeare's play ''Twelfth Night''. Tønsberg
Tønsberg , historically Tunsberg, is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, eastern Norway, located around south-southwest of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Tønsberg. The city is the most populous metropolis in the district of Vestfold with a population of 52,419 in 2019. Asbjørn Aarnes
Asbjørn Aarnes (20 December 1923 – 8 January 2013) was a Norwegian professor and literary historian. Biography He was born at Vågbø in Tingvoll, Norway. He studied from 1951-52 at École Normale Supérieure in Paris. In 1957, Aarnes became Dr. Philos. at the University of Oslo. He was appointed professor at the University of Oslo from 1964. He was professor of European literary history from 1964 to 1993, as well as head of literature department from 1966 to 1970. He also several published works on French literature and on Norwegian poets. He was co-editor of the book series ''Idé og tanke'', jointly with Egil A. Wyller, and principal editor of the book series ''Thorleif Dahls Kulturbibliotek'' from 1978 to 2001. In 1963 he was admitted to the Norwegian Academy and presided over from 1967-82. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old.
