Edureeta
''Edureeta'' () is a 1977 Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by V. Madhusudhana Rao. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao and Vanisri, with music composed by Satyam. It is a remake of the Bengali/Hindi film '' Amanush'' (1975). The film was released on 22 July 1977. Plot The film begins in a remote village, Bobbarlanka, adjoining the river Godavari. Inspector Ananda Rao a newly appointed cop arrives at the village. There, he encounters various characters, a diabolic person Bhushaiah, the president of Bobbarlanka, a kind-hearted Dr. Dharmaiah, and his sister Radha, a school teacher. Anand Rao is particularly fascinated by a person, Madhu is a drunkard who always lies in a cauldron of misery. Madhu belongs to a Zamindari family that is bankrupted and the village rewards him as a beast including his love interest Radha. At present, his livelihood is rowing the boats. ''Amanush'' () is a 1975 Indian action drama film made in both Hindi and Bengali languages, produced and directed by Shakti Samanta. The film stars Sharmila Tagore, Uttam Kumar, Utpal Dutt and Asit Sen. Both the versions were hits. The film was based on Shaktipada Rajguru novel ''Naya Basat'' which he written based on Sundarban. The film music composed by the popular Bengali singer-composer Shyamal Mitra. The film’s plot line is simple enough, but it’s the complexity of human emotions depicted that makes it a classic. Tadepalli Lakshmi Kantha Rao (16 November 1923 – 22 March 2009) was an Indian actor and producer known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. Regarded as one of the finest method actors, Rao starred in more than four hundred feature films in a variety of genres including mythological, social and folklore. He has also acted in a few Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam movies. He has produced about five films under the Hyma Films banner. Basavaraju Venkata Padmanabha Rao (20 August 1931 – 20 February 2010), known mononymously as Padmanabham, was an Indian actor, comedian, producer, and director who predominantly worked in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre. He is known for his comic expressions and dialogues. In a career spanning over six decades, he acted in more than 400 films. Padmanabham made his film debut as a child actor in 1945 with ''Mayalokam''. ''Shavukaru'' (1949) was his first major hit and gave him a footing as a comedian. Sakshi Ranga Rao (born Rangavajhula Ranga Rao; 15 September 1942 – 27 June 2005) was an Indian character actor who worked in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre.
