Eduardo Suárez Mujica
Eduardo Suárez Mujica (April, 1859 - April 22, 1922), was the Chilean Ambassador to the United States in 1914 and the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1917 to 1918. Biography Mujica was born in Santiago, Chile on April, 1859 to Eugenio Suárez Pérez and Benedicta Pérez Mujica. He studied at the Instituto Nacional from 1871 to 1873. He then attended the University of Chile Law School. He married Leonor Gonzalez Orrego. He was made a Senior Officer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on October 16, 1882. Atacama Governor in 1901. He was Minister of Justice from August 29, 1908 to January 22, 1909 in the administration of Pedro Montt. Minister to Mexico and Cuba in 1909, Minister to the U.S. in 1911, Ambassador in Washington in 1914. Pedro Montt
Pedro Elías Pablo Montt Montt (; 29 June 1849, Santiago, Chile – 16 August 1910, Bremen, Germany) was a Chilean political figure. He served as the president of Chile from 1906 to his death from a probable stroke in 1910. His government furthered railroad and manufacturing activities but ignored pressing social and labour problems. Biography The son of the former Chilean president Manuel Montt Torres and Rosario Montt Goyenechea, Pedro Montt graduated in law from the National Institute in 1870. He was elected a member of the Chamber of Deputies in 1876 and became its president in 1885. Montt held two posts in the cabinet of President José Manuel Balmaceda, but in 1891 he took an active part in the revolution that overthrew Balmaceda. He then went to the United States, first as an agent of the revolutionary junta and later (after U.S. recognition) as Minister. The Congressional Gold Medal is an award bestowed by the United States Congress. It is Congress's highest expression of national appreciation for distinguished achievements and contributions by individuals or institutions. Juan Luis Sanfuentes
Juan Luis Sanfuentes Andonaegui (; 27 December 1858 – 16 July 1930) was President of Chile between 1915 and 1920. Sanfuentes was the son of writer and politician Salvador Sanfuentes Torres and Matilde Andonaegui. Orphaned at an early age and raised by his older brother, Enrique Salvador Sanfuentes, he trained as a lawyer at the University of Chile. He graduated with a Doctor of Law in 1879. He married Ana Echazarreta (ca. 1865–1927) in 1885, and the couple had five children. Rising to the position of Minister of Finance under Federico Errázuriz Echaurren in 1901, Sanfuentes served as President of the Senate of Chile from 1906 through 1909.
