Eduardo Luján Manera
Eduardo Luján Manera (22 August 1944 – 15 August 2000) was an Argentine football defender, and a manager who won the Argentine Primera with Estudiantes de La Plata as player and manager. He was banned from football for 20 games by the Argentine Football Association and sent to prison for a month following assaults on AC Milan players in the 1969 Intercontinental Cup final. The Copa Interamericana ( en, Interamerican Cup) was an annual club football competition contested between a representative from North America (CONCACAF) and South America (CONMEBOL). Established in 1969, it was discontinued in 1998 after CONCACAF clubs, particularly those from Mexico, began participating in CONMEBOL competitions. The competition was intended to be contested between the winners of the North American CONCACAF Champions Cup and the South American Copa Libertadores tournaments, although the participants varied at times. Metropolitano Championship
The Metropolitano championship ("Campeonato Metropolitano") was an Argentine football tournament which existed between 1967 and 1984. The Metropolitano formed one half of the Primera División, taking place in the first half of the year, while the Nacional championship ("Campeonato Nacional") took place in the 2nd half of the year. This arrangement lasted until 1982 when they were reversed. The Metropolitano and Nacional were abandoned to make way for European style seasons beginning in 1985–1986. 1969 Intercontinental Cup
The 1969 Intercontinental Cup (football), Intercontinental Cup was a Two-legged tie, two-legged association football match contested between 1969 European Cup Final, 1968–69 European Cup champions A.C. Milan, Milan and 1969 Copa Libertadores winners Estudiantes de La Plata. It was the 10th edition of the competition. The first leg was played at the San Siro in Milan, on 8 October 1969. Milan won the home game 3–0. The return leg was held two weeks later, on 22 October, at Estadio Alberto J. Armando, La Bombonera in Buenos Aires. Despite suffering a 2–1 defeat, Milan won the title on aggregate.
