Eduardo Bailey
Eduardo Bailey Elizondo (born 14 October 1961) is a Mexican politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) who has served in the lower house of the Mexican Congress. In 2000 Bailey was designated municipal president (mayor) of the municipality of Escobedo when the municipal president, Abel Guerra, left that position seeking a seat in the Congress. In 2003 Bailey was elected federal deputy to serve in the LIX Legislature of the Mexican Congress. Institutional Revolutionary Party
The Institutional Revolutionary Party ( es, Partido Revolucionario Institucional, ; abbr. PRI) is a political party in Mexico that was founded in 1929 and held uninterrupted power in the country for 71 years, from 1929 to 2000, first as the National Revolutionary Party ( es, Partido Nacional Revolucionario, PNR), then as the Party of the Mexican Revolution ( es, Partido de la Revolución Mexicana, PRM) and finally as the PRI beginning in 1946. The PNR was founded in 1929 by Plutarco Elías Calles, Mexico's paramount leader at the time and self-proclaimed (Supreme Chief) of the Mexican Revolution. Abel Guerra Garza (born 30 July 1954 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas) is a Mexican politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) who has served twice as municipal president of Escobedo, Nuevo León (1992-1994 and 1997-2000), and once as a federal congressman in the lower house of the Mexican Congress (2000–2002). Guerra holds a bachelor's degree in Architecture and a master's degree in business administration (MBA) from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL). In 2003 he was elected local deputy to serve in the Congress of Nuevo León but left that position to serve in the cabinet of Governor José Natividad González Parás. General Escobedo, Nuevo León (municipality)
General Escobedo, or simply Escobedo, is a city and municipality in Nuevo León, Mexico that is part of the Monterrey Metropolitan area. As of the census of 2005, the population was 295,131 in the city and 299,364 in the municipality. The municipality has an area of around 205 km² and shares borders to the south with San Nicolás de los Garza, Monterrey and Santa Catarina; to the north with Hidalgo and El Carmen; to the east with Apodaca and Salinas Victoria; and to the west with García. Escobedo is also the home of the Mexican Army's 7th Military Zone Army Base. Origin of the name The city was named after the General Mariano Escobedo.
