Eduard Kubat
Eduard Kubat (1891–1976) was a German film producer, who also directed two films.Giesen p.193 During the Nazi era he was employed by Terra Film, but following the Second World War he went to work for DEFA, the state-controlled company of East Germany. ''Victor and Victoria'' (german: Viktor und Viktoria) is a 1933 German Musical film, musical comedy film written and directed by Reinhold Schünzel, starring Renate Müller as a woman pretending to be a female impersonator. The following year, Schünzel directed a French-language version of the film titled ''George and Georgette'', starring Meg Lemonnier and a French cast. In 1935, Michael Balcon produced an English version titled ''First a Girl'', directed by Victor Saville and starring Jessie Matthews and Sonnie Hale. A Victor and Victoria (1957 film), West German remake by Karl Anton was released in 1957. In 1982, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer released ''Victor/Victoria'', an English-language remake by Blake Edwards. ''1-2-3 Corona'' is an East German film directed by Hans Müller. It was released in 1948. Plot In ruined Berlin, several bands of abandoned children roam the streets, engaging in petty crimes. When a circus arrives nearby, the boys are charmed by one trapeze performer called Corona. They are upset when the circus' manager insults her, and plan a revenge by setting a trap on the ring. But their scheme fails and it is Corona that is injured. Being unable to work, she is dismissed.
