Edouard D'Huart
Edouard, Baron d'Huart was a Belgian politician from Luxembourg. Personal life Edouard d'Huart belonged to a noble family of mainly soldiers, for whom the first nobility recognition dated from 1613. He was a son of Henri-Eloi d'Huart (1761-1823) and Catherine de Patoul (1761-1838). Henri d'Huart was an officer with a career in Austria, France and Holland. In 1816, he was admitted to the nobility in the Duchy of Luxembourg with the title of baron, transmissible to the eldest son. In 1842, the title was extended to all his descendants. He was married in 1835 to Anne de Montpellier d'Annevoie (1807-1906) and they had four children. Career He worked in engineering before moving into politics. Belgian Revolution
The Belgian Revolution (, ) was the conflict which led to the secession of the southern provinces (mainly the former Southern Netherlands) from the United Kingdom of the Netherlands and the establishment of an independent Kingdom of Belgium. The people of the south were mainly Flemings and Walloons. Both peoples were traditionally Roman Catholic as contrasted with Protestant-dominated (Dutch Reformed) people of the north. Many outspoken liberals regarded King William I's rule as despotic. There were high levels of unemployment and industrial unrest among the working classes. On 25 August 1830, riots erupted in Brussels and shops were looted. Theatregoers who had just watched the nationalistic opera ''La muette de Portici'' joined the mob. Virton (; Gaumais: ''Viertån''; wa, Vierton) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. It is also the administrative centre of the district (''arrondissement'') of the same name, as well as the principal town of the small region of Belgian Lorraine known as the Gaume, famous for its microclimate. The Order of Leopold ( nl, Leopoldsorde, french: Ordre de Léopold, ) is one of the three current Belgian national honorary orders of knighthood. It is the oldest and highest order of Belgium and is named in honour of its founder, King Leopold I. It consists of a military, a maritime and a civil division.
