Edolo
Edolo ( Camunian: ) is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Brescia, Lombardy, northern Italy, located in the upper Camonica valley. Edolo is neighbour to the comuni of Corteno Golgi, Incudine, Lovero, Malonno, Monno, Ponte di Legno, Saviore dell'Adamello, Sernio, Sonico, Temù, Tovo di Sant'Agata, Vezza d'Oglio and Vione. Edolo houses the northern terminus of the Brescia-Edolo railway operated by Trenord. It is also the location of the Edolo Pumped Storage Plant. Despite Edolo's close distance (32 km by road) to Tirano and the border with Switzerland, there is no train connection between the two towns. Edolo Pumped Storage Plant
The Edolo Pumped Storage Plant is located along the Oglio River just downstream of Edolo, Brescia Province in the Lombardy region of Italy. Using the pumped-storage hydroelectric method, it has an installed capacity of . Its generators were commissioned between April 1984 and November 1985. Lake Avio was previously completed in 1929 and Lake Benedetto completed in 1940. Design and operation The lower reservoir is located in Edolo on the north bank of the Oglio. It was created by a circular dike and stores water for pumping. Of the lower reservoir's storage capacity, can be used for pumping. It is located at an elevation of .
