Edmonton Chill
The Edmonton Energy is a professional basketball team in the International Basketball League, formerly known as the Edmonton Chill. The Chill name was revoked in August 2008, after allegations of misconduct were filed with the league regarding Troy Barns, the majority shareholder in the team. On 27 January 2009, The Edmonton Chill were renamed the Edmonton Energy. Eleven local business owners, led by businessman, chartered accountant, and mayoral candidate David Dorward came together to keep the IBL in Edmonton. Paul Sir was head coach and general manager of the Edmonton Energy. The Edmonton Energy formerly played their home games at the MacEwan Centre for Sport and Wellness at MacEwan University ,just north of Downtown Edmonton, but moved to the " Butterdome" (or Universiade Pavilion), located at the University of Alberta in the Windsor Park/ Garneau area. International Basketball League
The International Basketball League (IBL) was a semi-professional men's basketball league featuring teams from the West Coast of the United States. In 2010 the Albany Legends became the first team in the Northeastern United States to join. The IBL also sometimes featured teams from China and Japan which temporarily relocated to the United States for the IBL season. The IBL season typically ran from the end of March through July. Skouson Harker
Skouson Harker (born 1977) is a Canadian former professional basketball player of the FIBA European Leagues. Harker is from Raymond, Alberta, Canada. After five seasons as a Head Coach in the British Basketball League, Harker most recently coached the Edmonton Energy of the International Basketball League. David Clark Patten (born March 12, 1988) is an American musician, actor, director, and author from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Early life and education Patten attended Temple University in Philadelphia, graduating with a degree in film in 2010. While at university, he collaborated with rapper Meek Mill on tracks "Believe Me" and "How Good", also directing some of Mill's music videos. Rashaun Broadus
Rashaun Eneal Broadus (born August 5, 1984) is an American-born naturalized Albanian former professional basketball player. Born in Seattle, Washington, he attended Mililani High School in Mililani, Hawaii. A tall point guard, Broadus then competed for Western Nebraska Community College before transferring to BYU, where he became a starter at the NCAA Division I level. As a professional, Broadus played his rookie season with the Romanian team CSU Brașov. In the following years, he had stints in the top leagues of Ukraine and Lithuania, earning All-Star honors in the latter. Most notably, the point guard took part in the EuroCup with Lietuvos rytas in 2016. Broadus has also competed for MKS Dąbrowa Górnicza in Poland and with the German team Rasta Vechta of the ProA. Sound FC is an American soccer team based in Tacoma, Washington. Founded in 2006, the team most recently played in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The Vancouver Volcanoes are a professional basketball team that plays in The Basketball League (TBL) based in Vancouver, Washington. Previously, the team competed in the International Basketball League The team has played at several arenas throughout their existence and will play in the O'Connell Sports Center. The Yamhill HighFlyers were an International Basketball League team based in McMinnville, Oregon. It was the first professional sports franchise of Yamhill County, Oregon. The team was founded by owner/general manager Eric Bailey in 2009 and was operated by YHF Entertainment, LLC. The High Flyers worked to gain the support of local business and offer opportunities for local athletes. The team did not field a team in 2013. The voice of the HighFlyers was the local radio personality Brian Eriksen, games were carried on local radio station KLYC 1260AM. 2009 Season The HighFlyers played an abbreviated four game schedule in 2009 for their branding year. Portland Chinooks
The Portland Chinooks was a professional men's basketball team based out of Portland, Oregon. They were charter members of the International Basketball League and began play in the league in 2004. The team was owned by local businessman Terry Emmert. They played their home games at various locations since their inception, including the Peter Stott Center, the Rose Garden, and at Eastmoreland Courts in southeast Portland. The team colors of red and black were shared with their predecessors from the NBA, the Portland Trail Blazers. Emmert, who bought the team due in part to his problems with the ABA's Portland Reign, did not escape problems with the Chinooks in his attempt to bring minor league hoops to Portland. The Snohomish County Explosion was a semi-professional basketball team that last played in the National Athletic Basketball League (NABL) in 2010. Bellingham Slam
The Bellingham Slam are a semi-professional basketball team that formerly competed for seven seasons in the International Basketball League. Before joining the IBL, they played two seasons in the American Basketball Association. They were originally expected to play in Everett, Washington, but were relocated to Bellingham, Washington under the ownership of John Dominguez. The team currently competes in the annual Seattle Pro–Am basketball tournament organized by Seattle, Washington native and former National Basketball Association (NBA) player Jamal Crawford. Lamond Maurice Murray Sr. (born April 20, 1973) is an American former professional basketball player. Murray was selected seventh overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1994 NBA draft after a college career at the University of California at Berkeley, during which he teamed with Jason Kidd. He has played for the Clippers, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Toronto Raptors, and the New Jersey Nets throughout his 12-year, 736-game NBA career, averaging 11.3 points per game.
