Edmonds, Washington
Edmonds is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is located in the southwest corner of the county, facing Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains to the west. The city is part of the Seattle metropolitan area and is located north of Seattle and southwest of Everett. With a population of 39,709 residents in the 2010 U.S. census, Edmonds is the third most populous city in the county. The estimated population in 2019 was 42,605. Edmonds was established in 1876 by logger George Brackett, who bought the land claim of an earlier settler. It was incorporated as a city in 1890, shortly before the arrival of the Great Northern Railway. Early residents of the city were employed by the shingle mills and logging companies that operated in the area until the 1950s. The hills surrounding Edmonds were developed into suburban bedroom communities in the mid-to-late 20th century and subsequently annexed into the city. Edmonds Station (Washington)
Edmonds station is a train station serving the city of Edmonds, Washington, in the United States. The station is served by Amtrak's '' Cascades'' and ''Empire Builder'' routes, as well as Sound Transit's Sounder N Line, which runs between Everett and Seattle. It is located west of Downtown Edmonds adjacent to the city's ferry terminal, served by the Edmonds–Kingston ferry, and a Community Transit bus station. Edmonds station has a passenger waiting area, a single platform, and a model railroad exhibit. The station building was opened by the Great Northern Railway in 1957, replacing the city's older depot from 1910. Great Northern merged into Burlington Northern (later BNSF Railway) in 1970; passenger service ceased when Amtrak took over Burlington Northern's passenger routes the following year. Edmonds Station (SkyTrain)
Edmonds is an at-grade station on the Expo Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station is located southwest of the intersection of Griffiths Drive and 18th Avenue, near Edmonds Street, south of Kingsway in the Edmonds area of Burnaby, British Columbia. SkyTrain's maintenance and storage facility serving both the Expo and Millennium lines is one block east of this station, linked to and from the main guideway by multiple switch tracks. History Edmonds station was built in 1985 as part of the original SkyTrain system (now known as the Expo Line). In 2002, Millennium Line service was introduced to the station, which provided outbound service to VCC–Clark station (originally Commercial) via Columbia station in New Westminster.
