Edith Thallaug
Edith Thallaug (16 June 1929 – 7 June 2020) was a Norwegian actress and opera singer. Personal life Thallaug was born in Bærum to Rolf Thallaug and Marta Marie Halvorsen, and was a sister of actress and singer Anita Thallaug. She was married three times, first to violinist Bjarne Gullov Larsen, second to singer and director Ulf Björkegren, and third time to violinist Josef Benczy. Career Thallaug was assigned with Studioteatret from 1947 to 1948 and with Nationaltheatret from 1948 to 1960. Her roles included "Helen" in Per Aabel's adaptation of de Caillavet and de Flers' comedy '' La belle aventure'' in 1952, and "Solveig" in Alfred Maurstad's staging of Ibsen's ''Peer Gynt'' in 1955. She made her debut concert as singer in Oslo University Aula in 1959, was assigned with Stora Teatern in Gothenburg from 1960 to 1964, and with the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm from 1964 to 1982. Anita Thallaug
Anita Thallaug (born 14 February 1938) is a Norwegian actress and singer. Biography Thallaug was born in Bærum on 14 February 1938. She has featured in musicals, cinema and TV programs. Under the name Vesla Rolfsen, at the age of seven, she was performing at the Spider theatre in Oslo. She featured frequently in NRK children's programs of the 1950s. Thallaug was the Norwegian contestant in the Eurovision Song Contest 1963, with the song "Solhverv", where she finished 13th (last). She was the first of four Norwegian entrants to score no points in the competition. Anita Thallaug is the younger sister of opera singer Edith Thallaug. Bærum
Bærum () is a municipality in the Greater Oslo Region in Norway that forms an affluent suburb of Oslo on the west coast of the city. Bærum is Norway's fifth largest municipality with a population of 128,760 (2021). It is part of the electoral district and historical county of Akershus and of the newer Viken County. ''Peer Gynt'' (, ) is a five- act play in verse by the Norwegian dramatist Henrik Ibsen published in 1876. Written in Norwegian, it is one of the most widely performed Norwegian plays. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' ( no, Store Norske Leksikon, abbreviated ''SNL''), is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. The online encyclopedia is among the most-read Norwegian published sites, with more than two million unique visitors per month. Paper editions 1978–2007 The ''SNL'' was created in 1978, when the two publishing houses Aschehoug and Gyldendal merged their encyclopedias and created the company Kunnskapsforlaget. Up until 1978 the two publishing houses of Aschehoug and Gyldendal, Norway's two largest, had published ' and ', respectively. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957.
