Edith Mary England
Edith Mary England (1 July 1899 – 1979/1981) was an Australian novelist and poet who was born in Townsville, Queensland. Biography England was born in Townsville, Queensland to John England and Jane Kelly England. She moved to Boonah Boonah is a rural town and locality in the Scenic Rim Region, Queensland, Australia. Geography The town is positioned near the Fassifern Valley, McPherson Range and Main Range ... in south-east Queensland at the age of six, and was later educated in Sydney and at Ipswich Grammar. She received a degree in music and taught for a while. In 1922, England married Schomberg Montagu Bertie, and had two daughters, Caroline (1923) and Patricia (1926). Bertie died in 1937, and in 1938 England left Boonah. She was remarried in 1942 to Harry August Anders. E. M. England died in 1979 or 1981. Townsville is a city on the north-eastern coast of Queensland, Australia. With a population of 180,820 as of June 2018, it is the largest settlement in North Queensland; it is unofficially considered its capital. Estimated resident population, 30 June 2018. Townsville hosts a significant number of governmental, community and major business administrative offices for the northern half of the state. Part of the larger local government area of the City of Townsville, it is in the dry tropics region of Queensland, adjacent to the central section of the Great Barrier Reef. Boonah is a rural town and locality in the Scenic Rim Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Boonah had a population of 2,484 people. Geography The town is positioned near the Fassifern Valley, McPherson Range and Main Range. It is surrounded by hills, including Mount French and other Moogerah Peaks. Frog Buttress is a popular rock climbing cliff on the north-west side of Mount French. The Wyaralong Dam was constructed east of Boonah on Teviot Brook, a tributary of the Logan River. At full supply level, water would have inundated parts of the road connecting Boonah and Beaudesert, so a new section of road has been built. Water for the town is supplied from Lake Moogerah on Reynold's Creek, a tributary of the Bremer River. Maroon Dam is another reservoir built south of Boonah at the base of the McPherson Range.
