Edificio Limatambo
The Limatambo Building ( es, Edificio Limatambo), also known as the Seoane Building ( es, Edificio Seoane), was a building in Lince District, Lima. The building was known for its billboards, most of which promoted the Coca-Cola Company. It was demolished in 2013 to make way for the planned Rímac Tower ( es, Torre Rímac) on its former site. The building was promoted as the country's first skyscraper, but was never built. History The building was built in the 1950s, was built between 1953 and 1954 at the intersection of Javier Prado and Paseo de la República avenues, near what was then the Limatambo International Airport. The project was signed by the Peruvian architect Enrique Seoane Ros, commissioned by the Brescia family. One of its first billboards promoted Panagra, which operated in the aforementioned airport. Lince District
Lince is a district of the Lima Province in Peru. It is part of the city of Lima. Officially established as a district on May 29, 1936, the current mayor (''alcalde'') of Lince is Vicente Amable Escalante. The district's postal code is 14. Until 1936, when it was made into a separate district, Lince was attached to Miraflores and San Isidro district. Geography The district has a total land area of 3.03 km². Pan American-Grace Airways, also known as Panagra, and dubbed "The World's Friendliest Airline" was an airline formed as a joint venture between Pan American World Airways and Grace Shipping Company. On September 13, 1928, a small single-engine Fairchild airliner flew from Lima, Peru, to Talara, Peru, which marked not only the beginning of Pan American Grace Airways but also the inauguration of scheduled air transportation along the West Coast of South America. From this short flight in 1928 to nonstop flights from New York to South America with Douglas DC-8 Intercontinental Jets in 1966, Panagra became the standard-bearer for transportation between the US Mainland East Coast and the West Coast of South America for 39 years. The Interbank Building is a building located in the neighbourhood of Santa Catalina, La Victoria District, Lima. It serves as the main headquarters of Interbank, a Peruvian financial entity and was inaugurated in February 2001. It is located at the intersection of Luis Bedoya Reyes and Javier Prado Este avenues. It has a total construction area of 45,300 m2 and a maximum height of 88 metres. History The building's predecessor was located at the Plazoleta de la Merced in the Jirón de la Unión. The construction was in charge of the Peruvian company Cosapi S.A. and the design by the Austrian architect Hans Hollein. The Casa Marsano, also known as the Marsano Palace ( es, Palacio Marsano), was a palace in Miraflores District, Lima. History The site of the building was located in Miraflores, a district of Lima which had been affected by the War of the Pacific. The University of Lima ( es, Universidad de Lima) is a private nonprofit university in Lima, Peru. It was founded in 1962 and it is considered one of the most prestigious and remembered universities in Peru. The decision to create the University of Lima was made in the early 1960s by a group of university professors, along with commerce and industry representatives gathered in the Civil Association PRODIES (Promotion of Industrial Development through Higher Education).
