Edge Hill (Liverpool Ward)
Edge Hill ward is an electoral division of Liverpool City Council centred on the Edge Hill area of the city. It was created in 1895 from part of the previous West Derby ward where three councillors were elected. It was dissolved in 1953. The ward was recreated in 2023 following a review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England which decided that the existing 30 wards each represented by three Councillors should be replaced by 64 wards represented by 85 councillors with varying representation by one, two or three councillors per ward. The Edge Hill ward was reinstated as a single-member ward from the western half of the former Picton ward and a small part of the former Princes Park ward. Liverpool Wavertree is a borough constituency of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1997 and every election since has been won by a Labour Party candidate. Princes Park is a Liverpool City Council Ward in the Liverpool Riverside Parliamentary constituency. The population of the ward taken at the 2011 census was 17,104. The ward is ethnically diverse, with a 53% white, 16% black, 9% asian and 10% mixed ethnicity population. Archbishop Blanch School is a Church of England secondary school for girls located in Liverpool, England. The school is named after Baron Stuart Blanch who was Bishop of Liverpool from 1966 to 1975, and Archbishop of York from 1975 to 1983.
