Geoff Edge
Geoffrey Edge (born 26 May 1943) is a former British Labour Party politician. Biography Geoffrey Edge was born in West Bromwich. He was educated at the London School of Economics, from which he received a BA in Geography, and the University of Birmingham. He then became a university lecturer. Political career Edge was elected Member of Parliament for the newly created constituency of Aldridge-Brownhills at the February 1974 general election with a majority of only 366 votes. He was re-elected in October 1974 with an increased majority, but lost the seat in 1979 to the Conservative candidate Richard Shepherd. Whilst in parliament, Edge served as Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) for ministers in the Department for Education and the Privy Council Office. After losing his seat, Edge served on West Midlands County Council, where he created an economic development department. Sandra Edge
Sandra Helen Edge (born 26 August 1962 in Te Puia Springs) is a New Zealand netball coach and former international netball player. She captained the New Zealand under 21 team in 1982, aged 17. She debuted in the Silver Ferns in Melbourne in 1985, against Australia. For the next ten years she played in a record 94 internationals and three world championships; the team won the world title in 1987. She became New Zealand team captain in 1994, and retired in 1995. The team defeated England and South Africa, and came third in the 1995 world championship. Dennis Douglas Edge (January 10, 1903 – February 18, 1954) was a Canadian-born American player and coach of ice hockey. He served as head coach of the college ice hockey team at Gonzaga University prior to World War II. Biography Edge was born in January 1903 in Saskatchewan, Canada, and immigrated to the United States in 1925. He was active as an ice hockey player from 1918 until 1927, including two years with the Regina Pats, and culminating with a season of professional play in Los Angeles. Photos with the Oregon Historical Society show in him in uniform with other players on a team named the Spalding Aces. Edge coached the Gonzaga Bulldogs men's ice hockey team prior to World War II, taking that role during the 1937–38 season, and staying through completion of the 1939–40 season. David Edge (born November 12, 1954 in Blackpool, Lancashire, United Kingdom) is a former long-distance runner, who represented Canada at two consecutive Summer Olympics in the men's marathon. Biography In Blackpool, he had been a policeman. He moved to Canada in 1981, and joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California he did not finish. Four years later in Seoul, South Korea he finished in 67th place. He is Jewish, and competed in the 1981 Maccabiah Games, winning a silver medal in the 10,000 m and a bronze medal in the mini-marathon, and in the 1989 Maccabiah Games. Edge won the silver medal at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in the marathon, behind Australia's Robert de Castella. In 1984, he won the Ottawa Race Weekend marathon, and was the Canadian national marathon champion. Roland Edge (born 25 November 1978) is an English footballer who is the assistant manager at non-league Folkestone Invicta. Career Gillingham Edge made his professional debut for Gillingham as a 40th minute substitute in a 1–0 away league loss to Chesterfield in September 1998. In just his second season with the Kent side Edge featured in the FA Cup quarter finals as Gillingham lost 5–0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and at Wembley as they defeated Wigan 3–2 in the Football League Second Division play-off Final to gain promotion to the second tier for the first time in the club's history.
