Edgardo Rivera García
Edgardo Rivera García (born January 3, 1955) is an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. He was nominated by Governor Luis Fortuño to succeed retired Justice Efraín Rivera Pérez. Nominated on August 3, 2010, he was confirmed by the Senate of Puerto Rico on September 8, 2010. Early life Born on January 3, 1955, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rivera García studied at the Liceo Interamericano Castro before obtaining his B.A. at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, in 1977. At the same university, he obtained a Masters in Public Administration in 1983 and a Juris Doctor in 1988. He is single and the father of three daughters. Public service He was appointed by Governor Pedro Rosselló as a district attorney in 1994, resigning in 1997 to become then-Senate President Charlie Rodriguez's Director of Legislative Affairs until 2000. Luis Fortuño
Luis Guillermo Fortuño Burset (born 31 October 1960) is a Puerto Rican politician who served as the governor of Puerto Rico, an unincorporated territory of the United States, from 2009 to 2013. Fortuño served as the first secretary of economic development and commerce of Puerto Rico (1994–1997), as the executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (1993–1994), and as the president of the Puerto Rico Hotel Development Corporation during the administration of Pedro Rosselló. In 2004, Fortuño was elected resident commissioner of Puerto Rico, defeating Senator Roberto Prats. Efraín Rivera Pérez
Efraín Rivera Pérez (1951- 15 September 2013) born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, was a former Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. He held the position from 2000 to 2010. He died on 15 September 2013 in a motorcycle accident in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Career Rivera received his law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. He served in various courts in Puerto Rico until 1992 when Governor Pedro Rosselló hired him to be his Legal Advisor. He also served as Deputy Secretary of Justice. In 2000 he was appointed to the Supreme Court by Governor Rosselló. He took the oath of office on July 13, 2000 after confirmation by the Senate. Pedro Rosselló
Pedro Juan Rosselló González, (; born April 5, 1944) is a Puerto Rican physician and politician who served as the governor of Puerto Rico from 1993 to 2001. He was President of the New Progressive Party from 1991 to 1999 and 2003 to 2008, and served as Senator for the District of Arecibo from 2005 to 2008. His son, Ricardo was also Governor of Puerto Rico from 2017 to 2019. In 1988 Rosselló ran for Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, but lost to Jaime Fuster in the 1988 elections.
