Edgard Madi
Edgard Madi or Edgard Amine Madi (born 23 March 1956 in Beit Mery, Lebanon) is the bishop of the Maronite Catholic Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of São Paulo in Brazil. Biography Edgard Madi ended his high school and began his studies at Collège Sagesse in Beirut and ecclesiastical studies at Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, Lebanon, between 1977 and 1981. Ordained a priest on August 14, 1983, Madi moved to Boston in the United States where he majored in Education between 1988 and 1991. During his priesthood Madi held the following positions: 1983 to 1984 he was General secretary of the Maronite Synod of Bishops in Beirut; parish priest in Santa Tereza in Mansurieh in Lebanon from 1984 to 1988; priest in the Mar Mikhael Parish in Beirut and Latin Church in Boston from 1988 to 1991. Beit Mery
Beit Mery ( ar, بيت مري ; also Beit Mer, Beir Meri) is a Lebanese town overlooking the capital Beirut. The town has been a summer mountain resort since the times of the Phoenicians and later the Romans. The name derives from Aramaic and means "The house of my Lord". On one of the three hills of Beit Mery (Southern end of town) along the Lebanon Western mountain range are the ruins of the old Phoenician and Roman temples that were erected in the same general area in what is now known as Deir El-Qala'a (دير القلعة). At present, a Christian church and monastery sit on top of parts of the old Roman temple. Les Scouts Du Liban Groupe Sainte Marie Beit Mery is one of the biggest movement in town and it is located in College des Freres since 1969. Lebanese Maronite Order
The Baladites, formally known as the Lebanese Maronite Order (; abbreviated OLM), is a monastic order among the Levant-based, Catholic Maronite Church, which from the beginning has been specifically a monastic Church. The order was founded in 1694 in the Monastery of Mart Moura, Ehden, Lebanon, by three Maronite young men from Aleppo, Syria, under the patronage of Patriarch Estephan El Douaihy (1670–1704). The Aleppian monks of Aleppo, a city in present Syria resulted from a split with the Baladites. Pope Clement XIV sanctioned this separation in 1770. Paul Youssef Matar (born 1 February 1941 in Naameh, Lebanon) was the former Archeparch of the Maronite Catholic Archeparchy of Beirut. The archeparchial seat is the city of Beirut, at the Saint George Cathedral. Life Paul Youssef Matar was born on February 1, 1941, in the Mount Lebanon Governorate in Na'ameh, located in the historic Chouf Region. On 5 June 1965 at the age of 24, Matar was ordained to the priesthood. Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir ('; ar, الكاردينال مار نصر الله بطرس صفير; la, Victor Petrus Sfeir; 15 May 1920 – 12 May 2019) was the patriarch of Lebanon's largest Christian body, the Maronite Church, an Eastern Catholic Church in communion with the Holy See.
