Edgar Lane
Edgar Lane (December 12, 1923 – July 29, 1964) was a professor of political science at the University of California Santa Barbara. He was the author and editor of many scholarly articles, book reviews, and a book on lobbying reform. He made substantial contributions to the regulation of lobbying by assisting the House Select Committee on Lobbying Activities (1950). Early life and education Lane was born in Rochester, New York, on December 12, 1923. He entered Syracuse University at the age of 16 and completed most of his undergraduate studies prior to joining the United States Army during World War II. As a combat infantryman, he was wounded in action in Europe in 1944, and after his discharge from service the following year, began graduate studies at Syracuse University, receiving an M.A. degree in 1946. The University of California, Santa Barbara (UC Santa Barbara or UCSB) is a public land-grant research university in Santa Barbara, California with 23,196 undergraduates and 2,983 graduate students enrolled in 2021–2022.
